Taylor, Belly, and I were up 10 points, frankly because the boys suck at Volleyball but also because we actually play, Taylor and Belly were on varsity with me during school my last two years and it was super fun. We had a name for ourselves 'tres damas' the coach gave it to us but we never actually figured out what it meant because none of us understood Spanish

"I don't think you're ready," Taylor says while getting ready to serve "Come on," Steven says before Taylor throws up the ball and hits it right into the side of Nicole's face causing me to let out a quiet laugh

"Ow," Nicole says while putting her hand where the ball just hit "Oh, my God," Taylor says while trying to contain her laughter "Are you okay?" Steven asks her

"I'm so sorry, I didn't," Taylor tries to say but Belly cuts her off "Taylor." She says in a very stern tone "It was an accident," Taylor says rolling her eyes "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Belly asks Nicole

"Yeah, no, I'm-I'm-I'm totally fine y-you guys keep playing," Nicole says. can she stutter anymore, God? "Let me see it. Let's get you inside, I'll get you some ice," Conrad says before looking me in the eye with a disappointed look on his face as if I hit her "Conrad, it's okay," Nicole says while standing up and walking toward the door "I'm so, so sorry again, Nicole, Feel better soon," Belly says acting like her hand just got cut off. She got hit with a ball she's gonna be fine

"Come on, guys. Conrad can take care of Nicole," Taylor says causing Conrad to stop walking at look at us "Let's go Inside and tell people who they can and can't be with some more,," Taylor says in a rude tone and Conrad looks at me while clenching his jaw more than it already was "Yea, have fun with that," He says looking at me and then walking away

"Seriously, Taylor?" I say annoyed and swimming toward the edge of the pool to get out "Calm down, it was a joke," She says while following after me. I regret telling them what happened when I went to get the ball. I shouldn't have opened my mouth

I wrap the towel around me and start heading inside, "Hey, Tate. Wait," I hear Dylan say from behind me "What?" I say turning and looking at him "Are you okay?" He asks while wrapping his towel around him also

"yeah," I say looking down "I didn't know Conrad had a girlfriend," He says in a low voice "Yeah," I say still looking down "Look, I'm sorry about the other day, I for sure thought he was still in love with you," He says

"It's fine, we dated two years ago it didn't mean anything," I say trying to convince myself more than him "Well, if you want, maybe we could go out for lunch?" He asks and I lift my head with a smile

"Yeah, that would be nice," I say smiling at him "I just gotta change first,"  I say laughing "Same, I'll come back and pick you up at 12:30?" He asks "Yeah, that works," That means I only have 30 minutes to get ready, shit.

"Hey," I say while getting into Dylan's front seat "Hey, We are gonna go to an Ice cream place because I figured since it's Belly's Birthday you guys were gonna have a big meal," He says while looking at me briefly and smiling

"Okay, that sounds nice," I say. we soon arrived we walked into the place, I ordered a peanut butter cup ice cream and he ordered an Oreo cookie. we sat at a table outside in the shade "If you don't mind me asking, why did Taylor say that to Conrad?" He asks after licking his ice cream

"Uh, well, when I went to go grab the ball so we could play Conrad asked me why you were here because I told him what happened between us and he basically told me that you weren't good for me and I should be with someone else," I say trying to tell the truth but also lying so he doesn't think Conrad is still in love with me. "Oh," Is all he says

"Do you still love him?" he asks "No," I say half lying "Okay, good." He says smiling "That means I can ask you out again sometime," He says laughing

The rest of the time we finished getting to know each other and turns out we actually had a lot in common, and he really seemed like a nice and sweet guy, plus he actually knows what he wants so that's a step up from Conrad

My phone starts to ring and I pick it up to see that it's a Facetime from Belly so I answer it "Hey, what time are you gonna be back?" She asks while Taylor peeks her head in the frame "Soon," I say "Why?"

"Susannah said she wants us all at the house so we can take pictures for her scrapbook," She says while laughing "Okay, I'll be there soon," I say laughing "I guess this means we should go," Dylan says while standing up

Back at the house, Susannah gathered all of us outside, she made Belly, Taylor and I these flower crowns that were so cute "Okay, the girls all together first," Susannah said while pushing us together in front of the pool and we all decided to make a stupid face causing everyone to laugh

A few pictures later and some weird pairing Susannah finally decided to say that one I didn't want her to, "Okay, Now, Conrad and Tate," She says and I look at Conrad with a 'no way' look "Come on, you guys don't have to speak just stand there. I walk closer toward Conrad and he walks closer to me, we just stand there without any of us touching

"No, come on." Susannah says walking to us and grabbing Conrad's arm, draping it over my waist and grabbing my arm to put around his back "Perfect," She says while backing up and taking 40,000 photos, I let go of Conrad and I can feel his eyes burning holes into the back of my head as I walk away from him.
