Nath took another sip of his tea 🍵, his eyes flicking to Max now and then as the morning sunlight caught in Max's messy hair. It made him look even softer-more real, more reachable.

Nath: You know... I used to imagine moments like this.

Max: Like what ?

Nath: Just... mornings like these. Without chaos. Without pressure. Just... tea, breakfast, someone I don't have to pretend around ☀️.

Max paused mid-bite, blinking slowly at Nath. That kind of soft confession-it wasn't heavy, but it hit him straight in the chest. He swallowed and set his fork down.

Max: You don't have to pretend around me. Not ever.

Nath looked at him, something flickering in his gaze. Then, he gave a tiny nod, followed by a small smile 😊.

They both ate in silence for a while, the only sounds being the soft clinks of cutlery and the gentle breeze brushing past the open kitchen window 🌬️.

Nath: You really talk less in the morning, huh 🧐 ?

Max: You want me to argue with you early in the morning ? That's not happening 😪.

Nath: Not arguing. Just... I don't know... your sarcasm wakes me up faster than the hot tea 🍵.

Max: I'm not your personal alarm clock, Nath 🙄.

Nath: But you could be. You're better than any ringtone I've ever had 😎.

Max choked slightly on his tea, coughing as he set the cup down with a clatter. Nath grinned.

Max: You're unbelievable 😶.

Nath: And you like it 😏.

Max: That night, I must not have been in my right mind agreeing to let you follow me back to my hometown... Now I'm kinda regretting it 🙄.

Nath: No, you're not 😉.

Max leaned back in his chair, sipping his tea as he glanced at Nath-who looked oddly peaceful with sunlight on his face, one hand loosely cupping his warm mug.

Max: It's weird seeing you like this.

Nath: Like what ?

Max: Relaxed... soft... like a person who didn't just carry the weight of the world on his shoulders 😌.

Nath blinked, surprised for a second. Then his gaze lowered.

Nath: Maybe it's because being here with you makes it easier to breathe...

That answer hung in the air for a moment.

Max: You keep saying things like that... one day I might just-Doesn't finish his sentence

Nath: What 🤨 ???

Max: Nothing... I'm just saying 👀 ~

Nath: You can't just stop talking mid-conversation and expect me to act normal 😑.

Max: No pressure, remember 👀 ?

Nath: When you look at me like that, it makes me forget the walls I built around myself.

Max: Maybe that's a good thing ☺.

Max stood and cleared the plates while Nath watched him move around the kitchen. There was something magnetic about Max when he was just... being himself. Unfiltered. Casual. Real.
