"Keep your eyes on mine...

...and if you want I'll tell you lies"

Waking up drained, I took a quick shower. I put on a white skirt, a beige pullover and black boots. I decided to make a bun this time and put natural make-up.

It was the first day for my part time job at the bakery. Since I already had the interview, and Mikhail had no problem with me getting the job, I took the chance to get outside so I wouldn't have to encounter him at all.

We haven't really talked since the day he admitted that he never really cared about me or anyone. I was truly hurt by him, that I skipped every meal we had to eat at the table together. I would always eat in my bedroom, by myself. Sometimes Adriano ate with me so that I'd have some company.

He had been treating me really nice. He was such a kind person, despite the criminal environment he was born through, he never stopped taking care of the people he loved.

I just wished Mikhail was like that. I wished he truly cared about us, I wished he would have never pushed me away or underestimated Marcus's help for him.

But maybe he has always been that selfish. Maybe he would never be able to change.

And maybe I'd never be able to forgive him.

I skipped breakfast and Adriano offered to drive me to the bakery shop, so I gladly accepted.

When we arrived, I took a deep breath and made sure no one I knew was near the area.

Adriano gave me a smile and patted my head. "It's gonna be alright. You got this."

"Thank you." I smiled, and then I got out of the car, quickly heading to the bakery shop.

I changed to my uniform, the manager filled me with all the instructions I needed to be informed with.

All I had to do was great customers in a pleasant and helpful manner, take and fill bakery orders for them, answer all their questions, operate cash registers and credit card machines when customers pay for their bakery items.

I hoped it was as easy as it sounded.

Four hours passed and the manager said I was doing such an excellent work, which gave me the courage to continue with the same energy I had when I first started.

Not going to lie, I was feeling exhausted. It was a busy day with a lot of customers wanting a variety of orders. But I wouldn't blame them, that bakery shop was indeed the best one in San Francisco.

As I was mopping the floor, I heard the door getting opened. "Hello..." I said and I raised my head to look at the customer, "..Olivia?" I knitted my brows.

"Surprise!" Olivia yelled as Emma entered, with a gift box and two silver helium balloons.

"Wha-..What are you guys doing here?" I hissed, questioning with confusion.
