"There's things I wanna say to you..
..but I'll just let you live."
"If you hold me without hurting me..
..will be the first who ever did."
How does it feel losing the closest person to you, and not being able to do anything about it?
How does it feel realizing that the world was no longer a place for them to fit in?
We all lose millions of people every day, without even realizing it.
It just happens in less than a second of a lifetime.
Every moment you catch your breath, is a moment another one loses theirs.
Every moment you choose to cherish, is a moment another one grieves.
That's how the cycle of the world works, and that's how it shall ends.
You lose to give.
Or you give to lose.
Wether you lose everything, to give it all to another.
Or you give everything, to still lose it all to no one, but yourself.
That day someone gave us everything, liberty, serenity, survival and composure.
To still lose to subjugation, disruption, neglect and anguish.
And we still had nothing, but the honor of their devotion.
...
"How's he holding?" Rafael asked me, concernedly glancing at Mikhail who slowly climbed up the stairs without a single word since the morning.
We had just come back from Marcus's funeral. Rafael and Rayna insisted on going back to the mansion with us to check on Mikhail and make sure we didn't need anything.
Although, none of us had the energy to be with anyone at that moment. The pain of loss was enough stress on our hearts to handle.
I stared at the stairs for a moment, not sure if all what had happened was real or imaginary. Or a dream that tricked my mind into maintaining me through an inevitable fate of misery.
A misery that Marcus was no longer a part of, which sort of had added some kind of peacefulness to my agony.
"I'm-" I choked out with heavy breaths, closing my eyes shut. Trying to convince myself that everything would've been okay, even without Marcus's presence anymore. But every burning thought of him had just bottled up the edge of my throat, making it even harder to hold in tears.
