A nudge snapped me out of my internal debate, and when I turned I saw Izuku staring at me with curiosity.
"What's wrong, (M/n)-kun?" I gulped and my eyes drifted off towards Hitoshi, Izuku followed my eyes and his face lit up with realization. Behind him, Togata senpai and Eri were looking at me curiously as well, but Izuku slightly pushed me forward to go.
"Uh, I have... something to do, I'll... catch up with you guys later," I turned around and walked a few steps, before I heard Izuku's voice behind me.
"We'll be at the cafeteria!" Slightly glancing over my shoulder I nodded and kept walking towards the purple-haired boy.
Hitoshi was talking with one of his classmates, and even though we'd been in the same class, I didn't know her name. But she certainly knew who I was, because her grinning face fell into a slight frown. Hitoshi and her were talking, so he obviously noticed the change in her expression and turned around following her line of sight. We made eye contact and for a second I saw Hitoshi's cheeks turning a slight pink color.
The pleading look in my eyes must have gotten the message across to him because he apologized to the girl and walked up to me.
He just stood in front of me, staring up into my (e/c) eyes, "What do you want?"
I bit down on my bottom lip and looked down. The feeling in my chest was the same I felt that time when I kissed Katsuki and told him it didn't mean anything. Thank god everything turned out... amazingly.
So I just took a deep breath and did what I wanted to do since the day he walked away from my side.
My arms raised and wrapped around his shoulder, pulling him against my chest and hiding my face in his hair. Hitoshi squeaked out of surprise and tried to push me away.
"Wha-?! Let me... go!" I refused to release him and I held his arms against his sides, now hugging his waist and trapping his arms, preventing him from pushing me away. Hitoshi was still struggling, only slightly this time, and I let out a heavy sigh.
"I missed you, Shi-chan..."
That seemed to finally calm him down as his arms fell limp and I heard him sighing too.
"I'm sorry, (M/n)." My eyes widened and I pulled back just enough to stare into his eyes, but Hitoshi was looking away with a bright blush on his face, "I shouldn't have- uh... I overreacted, I'm really sorry."
I almost felt like I could cry from happiness, but I did something different. I hugged him by the waist again and spun us around while yelling a childish 'Shi-chan!'. He groaned and blushed even more, trying to keep his stoic expression, but soon his joyful laugh filled my ears.
"Okay, okay, put me down, people are staring," I smiled at him and placed him down on the ground.
While he dusted himself off from invisible dust, I kept staring at him, and when Hitoshi looked up he flinched as we made eye contact. "We're back to being friends, right?" I asked him eagerly and he blushed while glancing away.
"Y-yeah..." Instinctively, I hugged him again until a voice made us pull away.
"Shinso! We need your help!" A boy exclaimed, waving his arms around, getting our attention. Hitoshi glanced at him and nodded once, turning back to me.
"Well..." he sighed and scratched the back of his head, soon showing a bright smile, "See you later, (M/n)."
And like that, Hitoshi turned around and lazily jogged to his class. I grinned and turned around too, a happy fluttering feeling in my chest, reassuring me that what just happened was indeed real.
