Cadee felt pretty confident in the white form-fitting v-neck dress she had selected from the assortment Max had sent. It didn't show much skin, coming to a stop on her knee. She paired it with her favorite heeled sandals and a matching bag. She was putting the finishing touches on her make up when the doorbell rang."Wow!" was all Max could manage when she opened the door. His fist remained in the air like she'd opened the door just before he knocked.
"I'm glad you approve," she teased him, a tiny smile playing on her lips. "I just need to grab my coat and we can go."
He dropped his hand. "Wait, wait. Give me a few seconds to take all this in."
She lightly pushed his chest and he took a step back, pretending like she actually moved him.
"I had gone for only dresses that wouldn't show off anything, but I—" he trailed off. "you look really good. I'm rethinking this whole dinner thing."
"You don't look too bad yourself." Like usual, he was in a button down shirt that was tucked into dark blue slacks. The light blue of his shirt complemented his skin and he'd left a few buttons undone, giving hint of the golden tan underneath. She wanted to undo the rest. His hair was styled and away from his face. The whole look had a swoon-worthy effect on Cadee. She took a step forward, unable to stop herself. Their lips met in what started as a simple kiss to show they missed each other, before quickly escalating to one that stole her breath the moment he pulled away.
"I really missed you," he said as he looked down at her. She turned away from his hold, hurrying to grab her coat. A quick glance around showed that his roses had finally died and she'd probably thrown them out. He made a note to get her more this weekend.
When she returned with her coat in her arms, he retrieved it and held the fur open. She thanked him before passing her arms through. Just as Cadee was about to turn, he stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. "I have something else for you." Max fastened the silver necklace on her neck and it nestled in the slight v of her dress. She hurried to the hallway mirror to check it out.
"I love it!" she said. It was a simple tear drop pendant that shone each time it caught the overhead light. Cadee admired the jewelry for a few more seconds before she buttoned her coat above it. "Thank you. I feel excessively pampered."
"I kinda hoped you'd be angry about it," his eyes twinkled as he winked. She cocked her head in confusion, her nose scrunching up. "So we can fight about it and have angry make up sex."
"I've never had that," she chuckled. "I pretty much haven't tried much of anything sexual before you," she added. Max held the door open for her to pass, landing a smack on her ass. "What was that for?" she cried.
"It's one of those spanks you earned today."
She blushed before turning away to shut her apartment door. When her keys and phone were secured in her purse, she gripped Max's outstretched hand and followed him to the elevator.
Drey held the door open for them when they got to the car. This time, they'd used the parking lot. She was grateful to avoid the talk with the building manager.
"I kind of expected you to drive," she whispered. Drey shut the door of the sleek limo and went around to the driver's side.
Max pressed a button beside him and they both watched as the privacy screen slid shut. "I plan to do horrible things to you on the ride to and from the restaurant."
Her eyes widened. "horrible things?"
"Yes, baby. Starting now." She stared, half confused and half intrigued as he pulled out what looked to be a tiny remote battery from his slacks pocket. He pressed one of the miniature button and then she felt it— tiny vibrations against her groin.
