Chapter 11

Three months later:

"Food now" a two year old Red Boy said looking up at Macaque standing at the doorway "it's almost done Red Boy just be patient" Macaque said mashing up some carrots and sweet potatoes with a mortar and pestle "food now!" Red Boy said getting impatient "look I'm sorry but-" Macaque was interrupted by Red Boy "FOOD NOW!!!!" Red Boy shouted his hair bursting into flames and his fists in the air "Red Boy" Macaque said sternly making Red Boys hair go back to normal, Red Boy looked at his uncle with tears in his eyes and his cheeks red, he runs to a corner his arms crossed and pouting. He then ran to another part of the room knocking down a cushion and Macaque let out a sigh "okay forget patient, you can have one biscuit alright" Macaque said grabbing an Almond biscut just as Red Boy came running back with a smile on his face, he gives the biscuit to the two year old "Tank ou!" Red Boy said hugging his uncles leg before running off with the Almond biscuit in his hand

Macaque let out a sigh and went back to making Red Boy his lunch with Qi Xiaotian on his back in a blanket swaddle, Macaque paused and tasted the mashed carrots and sweet potatoes mix "not bad" he said grabbing a bowl and transferred some of the mashed food into the other bowl, Qi Xiaotian let out a chirp and gently tugged Macaques fur "easy little one, I'm nearly done, as soon as I give Red Boy his lunch I'll feed you" Macaque said his tail gently wrapped around the smaller one. When the mashed food was in the bowl he placed the spoon in it and takes it out into the kitchen with a cup of milk "lunch is ready" Macaque called out placing the bowl and cup on the table, Red Boy immediately ran to the table sitting down and Macaque sat down as well, Red Boy picks up a spoonful of mashed sweet carrot potatoes and tried to place it in his mouth only for it to fall off from the spoon and onto the table, Red Boy looked at it, drops the spoon, then picks it up with his hand and placed it in his mouth

Macaque couldn't help but chuckle as Red Boy picked more food up with his hand and ate it getting it all over his face and fingers, he then shifted Qi Xiaotian into his arms, moves the hanfu top a bit and let Qi Xiaotian nurse. Red Boy had begged his mother to stay with him for the summer and Iron Fan finally gave in knowing that her son was in safe hands and things have been lively with the two year old, Macaque looked at Red Boy who was scooping up the rest of his food with his hands and then back to Qi Xiaotian and placed a gentle kiss on his cub head stroking the bang on Qi Xiaotian. He then looks up and saw Red Boy drinking his milk the bowl tipped over and empty "you wants some more?" Macaque asked, Red Boy nodded placing the empty cup down "yes please" he said, Macaque then got up with Qi Xiaotian still nursing, takes the empty bowl along with grabbing the cup with his tail and heads back to the kitchen

In the kitchen Macaque placed the bowl down and began filling the bowl up with the orange mashed food, he then placed the cup down and filled it with milk and then headed back to the table "here you go Red Boy, and try to eat it slower this time, I don't want you having a stomach ache again" Macaque said placing the bowl and cup down next to Red Boy "okay" the two year old said and began eating it slower. Macaque then sits down and sighs, he looks down to see Qi Xiaotian had stopped nursing but was still hungry, he then shifts the baby to his right, moved the top of his hanfu, and let Qi Xiaotian nurse, Macaque let's out a sigh as he gently stroked his cub fur. A few minutes later Qi Xiaotian pulled away full, Macaque, pulled the hanfu top back on and gently wiped the excess milk off Qi Xiaotians lip

"Finish!" Red Boy said holding out the empty bowl "that's great bud, wanna help me with the dishe" Macaque asked, Red Boy nodded his head and Macaque got up, fixing the blanket swaddle back onto his back and headed to the kitchen with Red Boy following behind. Macaque placed the dishes into the sink and began washing them with Red Boy watching him from behind, but his attention was then turned to a teapot on the table, he tried to reach it but he couldn't, he then pulls on the cloth making the teapot come closer to him. Qi Xiaotian turns his head and sees Red Boy pulling the table cloth making the teapot go near the edge where Red Boy was, he chirps in Macaques ears making him turn around to see the teapot at the edge of the table and quickly got onto the table grabbing the teapot before it hits Red Boy while the two year old fell onto the floor "Red Boy" Macaque said sighing

Later Macaque was sitting down, folding some laundry with Qi Xiaotian watching him, not knowing that Red Boy was climbing up some dressers behind the shadow monkey. The demonic two year old tripped and dangled on the top dresser his legs kicking in the air as the dresser began to tip over, Macaques ear twitched and turns around in time to stop the big dresser from falling down onto them with Red Boy landing on his lap, just then the top dresser began to slide out but he stops it with his tail before slowly placing the dresser back onto the ground and Macaque let out a sigh of relief "that was close" he said

When Macaque was placing the laundry away Red Boy and Qi Xiaotian were left in the room together, Red Boy then summoned a small flame in his hand, Qi Xiaotian looked at it in curiosity and reached out for it only to fall over, the baby got up and shook his head making his golden eyes glow making Red Boy smile. Red Boy then began tossing around blankets and pillows to make a small fort with Qi Xiaotian under it, just as Macaque returned he gasped when he saw all the clean laundry on the ground and a blanket fort with Qi Xiaotian and Red Boy under it smiling "you've got to be kidding me" Macaque said just as Red Boy let out a small yawn

After cleaning up, making dinner, and putting the two kids to bed Macaque had collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep, only to be waken up by Qi Xiaotians cries "okay, okay, I'm coming" he said getting up and picking Qi Xiaotian up hugging him and gently patting his back to calm the cub down, Macaque let out some chirping to calm the cub down but it wasn't working "it's okay, it's okay Shhhh shhh shhhhh" Macaque said gently rubbing his back

"Hush now, my baby be still love don't cry

Sleep while you're rocked in my arms

Sleep and remember, my lullaby

So I'll be with you, when you dream"

When Macaque finished, Qi Xiaotian was fast asleep, he gently placed him back into the basket, placed a kiss on his forehead and went back to bed

The next morning Macaque got up early to re-wash the laundry with Qi Xiaotian on his back but was nodding off, he nearly fell into the tub when Qi Xiaotian chirp in his ear and Macaque stood up awake, he then turned to Qi Xiaotian and smiled "you're okay" Macaque said smiling. Soon Macaque sat at the table with Red Boy eating his breakfast and Qi Xiaotian nursing on him while nodding off, Red Boy stops eating as he watches Macaque bob his head back and forth "Shūshu?" Red Boy said waking up Macaque "yes Xiăo Zhízi?" Macaque asked with a smile Red Boy giggled and went back to eating, as Macaque nibbled on the food that fell on the table with a smile
