"Wha.....what?" Macaque said in shock his legs almost giving in, not believing what he heard "it's true, he got sucked in by some weird dark red portal, a-and this person came out smiling at us!" Mei said showing the tanned simian a picture of that she manage to take with her phone, Macaque breathing quickened at the familiar figure as the memories from long ago came rushing back to him "Mr. Macaque, are you okay?" Sandy asked going towards the tanned simian to comfort him, Macaque put his hand up and took a deep breath and looked at the group "take me to where the portal was" Macaque said with a stern look and voice

The group lead him to the wall, the tanned simian touched the wall and closed his eyes "the trail is still fresh, I can latch onto it and it'll lead us to MK" Macaque said, he took a deep breath grabbing onto the trail and creates a shadow portal, he then turned to thegroup "but I must warn you, what are you about to face is nothing like you have ever faced before, it'll be risky, dangerous, and will lead us all to be killed, but I will make sure nothing happens to any of you, so do as I say and you will live" Macaque said the group looked at each other then back to Macaque "let's do it!" Mei said with a smirk,  Macaque smiled and entered through the portal along with the others, not knowing that two figures jump in just as the portal closed

The portal opens at the edge of a dead forest and Macaque, Mei, Tang, Pigsy,  Red Son, and Sandy hops out the portal and onto the ash covered ground "where here" Macaque said looking at the distance, the others followed his gaze and saw dark clouds covering the sky and a large city "what is this place?" Pigsy said feeling shivers down his spine "The City of Darkness" Macaque said clutching his sleeves "T-The City of Darkness, b-b-but I thought it was a myth?" Tang said clutching MK's jacket close "it's real as you and me and old as the mountains" Macaque said trying so hard not to have a panic attack in front of the others "c-come on, let's go" Macaque said leading the others to the edge of the lake "wait but, isn't the entrance that way?" Mei said pointing to the stone bridge leading to a large wooden gates "the gates are lace with magic that will notify Kai that we're here, we're going to go through this lake that leads through the city and towards Kai's palace" Macaque said, Tang let out a gasp "K-K-Kai as in The Cursed Immortal Kai that slayed powerful demons, create weapons that can kill demons and celestial beings, and....who almost killed the Monkey King?" Tang asked in excitement but more in fear

Macaque just nods his head, he then came to a stop "it's still here" Macaque said pointing to the river boat "everyone hop on and stay quiet, I can hear Kai's clones patrolling the city" Macaque said stepping onto the boat his ears twitching, everyone quickly and quietly got onto the boat, once everyone got onto the boat Macaque grabs the wooden pole and pushes the boat away from shore and pushes the boat towards the city. As Macaque pushes the boat the others stares at the empty city the doors covered with dozens of talismans "this place is a ghost town" Mei said zipping her jacket closed from the cold wind "w-where is everybody?" Sandy asked tapping his fingers together "all who swore their loyalty to Kai were all banished to the shadow realm" Macaque said not looking up at the city

As they past through the city the finally reached the palace with blood red walls, black roofs, and lit with torches, the tanned simian stops the boat when they were under the palace, Macaque then felt around from above him and pushed a tile from above him away "quickly" Macaque said pulling himself up into the palace hallway, the others soon followed after with Sandy squeezing himself through "remember stay quiet and don't touch anything" Macaque said the others nodded and followed Macaques not knowing that two blood red eyes were watching them in the shadows. The six walked down the hallway passing by stone murals of Kai's battles from the past 'whoa' Mei thought snapping a few pictures of the murals on her phone, then suddenly Macaque stops "why we're stopping?" Pigsy asked, Macaque pointed at the direction in front of him and the others followed his gaze to see that the hallway splits into three different directions
