Chapter 44

Finally they made it to Flower Fruit Mountain "here we are" Monkey King said hopping off his cloud and placing his son and lover down on the beach, Macaque gasped as he stares up at the mountain "I'm...I'm here....I'm really home" Macaque said tears filling his eyes. Just then his ears perk up, six ears moving around till screeching were heard and he was tackled by a group of monkeys all chirping and hooting happily at him, MK gasped and immediately rushed to his ma, but a gentle paw on his shoulder stopped him and the teen looked up at Monkey King "it's okay kid, they're just...so happy to see him" Monkey King said smiling as his subjects greeted his husband "hahaha, I-I'm sorry, I miss you guys too" Macaque said tearfully laughing while hugging the mountain monkeys so happy to see them again

Soon Macaque let go and got up dusting the sand off him just as Monkey King walked up to him "they really missed you a lot" Monkey King said smiling, but it slowly turned into a frown, Macaque looked at his husband and took the kings paw "it's okay, it's in the past now" Macaque said smiling giving the king a gentle squeeze. Monkey King smiled feeling better now, then MK ran up to them "C'mon, le'go!" The teen said past his parents and towards the mountain "kid slow down!" Monkey King said running towards the teen with Macaque following behind laughing 'he's just like his father' Macaque thought running after the two through the jungle hearing the two laughing as they race up the mountain. Soon the trio made it to the waterfall "see, told you that I'd win" Monkey King said smirking "that's because you cheated and transformed into a cheetah!" MK said wiping the sweat off his brow "details, details" Monkey King said waving off the teen "he has a point, you have to be fair in the race" Macaque said taking his son side "ahh come on Mango, I was only playing with the kid" Monkey King said ruffling MK's hair

Later on the three entered the cavern and Macaque notice the holes in the mural walls "what happened to the murals?" Macaque asked, MK looked away while Monkey King smiled sheepishly "I just wanted some light up in this place, it was getting stuffy in here anyway" Monkey King said rubbing the back of his head. Macaque raised an eyebrow in suspicion but soon drops it and continued deeper into the cave as the two let out a sigh of relief, he then noticed the mural of him and Monkey King on their wedding day and smiled as the memory came into his head,  he was suddenly brought out of his thoughts when he felt something grabbed his leg, he looks down and saw Hiro staring up at the  tanned simian "oh, hello there" Macaque said picking up the young monkey, Hiro chirps and tilted his head at the strange monkey in front of him "his name is Hiro, he's Mei Lings son" Monkey King said gently petting the little monkeys head

"Mei Ling, where is she?" Macaque asked looking around for Hiro's mother "she....passed away, giving birth to him" Monkey King said sadness lacing his voice. Macaque gasped softly and looked back at the young monkey who was now looking at his six ears in curiosity, Macaque couldn't help but smile and leaned the little monkey close to his ears "be gentle" Macaque said as little Hiro touched the ears. Hiro cooed as he felt the soft ears and was amazed at how many they were, he then heard the other older monkeys calling him, hops out of the tanned simian arms and ran towards the older monkeys. Macaque smiled as Monkey King placed a gentle hand on his shoulder "you'd be surprised by how much he's just like her" Monkey King said smiling as Hiro eats a peach

Later on the trio were inside the cottage as MK and Macaque placed their bags down "okay now that we're all settled in, how bout I make us some lunch" Monkey King said smiling, Macaque and MK raised an eyebrow "you...can cook now" Macaque said not believing it "Hey, while you were gone I had been practicing!" Monkey King said crossing his arms puffing his cheeks out "ask the kid yourself" Monkey King said, Macaque turned to his cub "has he?" Macaque said, MK shrugged his shoulder "he is really good at making sandwiches, stove wise, he almost burned the cottage down trying to boil water" MK said smiling " that was one time" Monkey King grumbled and Macaque chuckled and kissed Monkey King's cheek "alright, I believe you" Macaque said smiling, Monkey King blushed "I'll be right back!" Monkey King said and ran towards the kitchen
