Chapter 24

Somewhere:

MKs head was spinning as he slowly regained consciousness, suddenly he felt his face getting poked by something, he slowly opened his eyes "hm?" MK said blinking a few times to clear his vision, when it was cleared, he saw he was staring at a mountain monkey and the mountain monkey was staring back at him making him gasp "uhh...hi?" MK said. The monkey chirps and more monkeys came into his view and pounced on him "Ah! No! Wait! Don't!" MK said as the monkeys poked, pride, smelled, and pull on him, then MK got up and shook the monkeys off him and the monkeys ran away leaving MK panting. He heard thunder rumbling and turned to see the flaming mountains, at first he was confused until Princess Iron Fan glowing eyes smiling flashed through his mind making him hold his head in pain as the memories from earlier came back 

He opened his eyes and turned around "Huh?" He said when he saw where he was "whoa. Flower Fruit Mountain" MK said in awe and began to make his way to the mountain. Halfway up the mountain MK decided to take a break "almost there...just halfway there" MK said catching his breath, suddenly he heard a rustle in a Bush making him jump "w-who's there?" MK said, then a small white monkey's head with a big black spot over his right eye popped out of the bush and chirped at MK in curiosity "oh...hey there, little guy" MK said relaxing, the little monkey came out of the bush and MK bent down to the little monkey. The little monkey looked at him and smiled, the little monkey then handed MK a mango "oh, thank you" MK said taking the mango, the little monkey chirps happily and went back into the bush, MK looked at where the little monkey left and back to the mango, he takes a bite of the mango smiling at how sweet it tasted 

After the small break MK headed back up the mountain, he let out a groan as he flopped down onto  the ground as he finally reached the top "I did it" MK said catching his breath, he heard chirping and looks to see the little monkey from earlier smiling at him and chirping "hey little guy" MK said gently petting the little monkey earning a purr from the monkey, he stands up and turns around to see a waterfall. He hops from rock to rock as he gets closer to the waterfall, he stares at the waterfall in front of him with the little monkey who climbed onto his shoulder, he raised his hand to the waterfall and touched it, as he placed his hand on the waterfall a golden seal appeared on the waterfall, MK steps back with a Yelp as he stared at the golden seal 

He looks up at the waterfall and it splits apart revealing a cavern inside, he steps into the cavern "hello? Hello?" MK called out as he walks deeper into the cavern "hello?" MK called out. He walks up to a mural on the cave wall and gasps "whoa" MK said in awe "Hey, that's the Monkey King" MK said as he stared at the mural of Monkey King, then the voice from before returned and whispered 'Sun Wukong'. Then the Monkey King mural eyes glisten and MK felt a sharp pain in his head,  when he opened his eyes he saw that everything was bathed in a golden glow "what... What's happening? Ah, what's wrong with my eyes?" MK said panicking, he looks down at his hands, he looks at the little monkey on his shoulder and back to the mural which was glowing

"Whoa" MK said as the images began to move "That's Monkey King being born from a stone!" Mk said when he saw the image "And when he got his staff from the Dragon of the East!" MK said as the Dragon blows a puff of smoke, when it clears he sees Monkey King kneeling down to the Monk, then it flashes to Zhu Baji, Sha Wujing, and Monkey King "Whoa!" MK said chuckling, then the image changed to Monkey King facing his enemies making MK Yelp, the image changed to Monkey King and another monkey both wearing flower crowns happy and smiling

MK watched as Monkey King placed a kiss on the other monkey's cheek right before the image faded MK looked at the other monkey feeling something familiar about them, then a scroll appeared and he looks up to see the Monk, Zhu Baji, Sha Wujing, and Monkey King "huh?" MK said as he felt the little monkey tapped his shoulder, he turns around and saw Monkey King standing there. Wukong turned around and ran to a deeper part of the cave, MK shook his head and ran after him "Monkey King? Hey! Wait up!" MK said chasing after him, Wukong stopped and turned around with his signature smirk "Monkey King! It's really..." but as MK grabs his arm, Monkey King disappeared in a wisp of smoke and the golden glow disappeared. MK looked at his hand and looked up at the grotto in front of him, it was filled with overgrown flora, and a large rock with a house sitting atop it...a peach tree rested next to the house "Monkey King?" MK called out but the only answer he got was his own echo

MK gritted his teeth and kick a rock in frustration as the little monkey chirped in comfort "Ugh. What was I thinking?" MK thought as he sat down on the ground pulling his legs close to his chest resting his arms on his knees "for a moment there, I thought...." MK began but let out a sigh "Baba was right, I really am delusional" MK said burying his face in his arms. Then a butterfly landed on his arm and looked at the little monkey "at least I'm not alone" MK mumbled with a small smile looking at the butterfly "Sup!" The butterfly greeted with a smile. MK shouted as he stands up shaking the butterfly off him while the little monkey held on

"Yes, yes. It is I, the Monkey--Gaugh!" The butterfly was cut off when MK stepped on the butterfly, squashing it. The little monkey stared at the squished butterfly and hopped off MKs shoulder as MK lifted his foot, "Is it dead?" MK asked himself, but then a glow came from the butterfly and shot up from the ground, transforming into an eagle, then a tiger, then a bear, and finally into it's true form....as the Monkey King with his arms crossed "M-M-M-Monkey King?" MK gasped in awe "Yeah~. The one and only" Wukong said giving the teen a smirk, he then made a show looking around "So...where's my staff?" Wukong asked, he then froze when he saw MK standing there, eyes welled up with tears, not sure how to react to the situation 

"I'm so sorry!!" MK cried out bowing down in front of Monkey King as the little monkey patted his back "I tried to bring it to you, but Princess Iron Fan came and took it! She's got this glove and-" MK tried to explain as more tears ran down his face. Wukong let out a chuckle and knelt down to MK "I know, I know. Look....I'm gonna come clean, Um....I've been kinda watching you" Wukong said smiling at MK "what?" MK said as he wiped his eyes with his sleeve. He then let out a gasp as he remembered all the times an animal was watching him "wait, WHAT? That was you!?" MK said to Monkey King who was using a bamboo stick he grabbed as a back scratcher "Ha! The look on your face~!" Wukong said letting out a laugh as he pointed at the teen "you're perfect!" Wukong said as he shoved the end of the bamboo stick into MKs face 

"Perfect for what?" MK asked confused as Monkey King went back to using the bamboo as a back scratcher, Wukong stopped and looked at MK "To be... my SUCCESSOR!" Monkey King said making a dramatic pose, MK wasn't impressed, "Uhh...are you sure you're the Monkey King?" The teen began poking and pulling at Monkey King's and fur "You've been cooped up in here way too long! I think your brain went mushed up" MK said, but was soon stopped as a orange tail was wrapped around him and sat him on the ground in front of Monkey King "listen, kid. You fought demons, And you didn't die, and you made it here, not just anyone can lift my staff, but you did" Monkey King said as he dug through his trash pile pulling out a bag of peach chips, opening the bag, pulled out a chip, and ate it "but what about DBK?" MK said as Monkey King summoned a cloud and flops down on it "Pfft, ha! What about DBK? You can handle it" Wukong said popping a chip in his mouth "consider it a trial" Monkey King said looking at MK with a smile "but I...." MK tried to say but just let out a sigh and looked down at the ground

The little monkey looked at MK and back to Monkey King letting out chirps, Monkey King opened his eye to look at his youngest subject and back to the kid and let out a sigh, got off his cloud and walked up to MK "Look, if you can lift the staff, you can use it. Just believe in yourself. Even a smidge makes a difference" Monkey King said, MK smiled at the words "the staff was taken from you, take it back" Monkey King said crossing his arms, MK smiled turned into a determined one "All right!" MK said and ran out the grotto and through the waterfall with the smile of determination on his face

He runs towards the beach and looks at the flaming mountains 'How am I supposed to get back?' He thought as it hit him in the head, he let out a sigh and turned his head to see the little monkey as well as the other monkeys looking at the cargo container from Sandy's ship, the lid slowly opened and the monkeys except the little monkey fled as the lid landed on the sand ground, MK covered his face as a gust of sand blew from the impact and when the sand finally cleared he opened his eyes to see a motorcycle with big rotator jets on the side "oh, yeah!" MK said getting into the pilot seat and stared at the buttons and switches on the console "Uh, can't be too hard to fly....right?...it's for ages eight and up" MK said pressing a button. The engines powered up and the jet lifted up from the ground and flew off to Megapolis and save the world as the little monkey watched from the beach with a smile
