Three weeks passed since the event in the sewers and MK has changed since then, he doesn't sleep due to the constant nightmares giving him big black bags under his eyes, he barely eats taking only a nibbles of food before making an excuse of being full or that he already ate, he spend most of his time on Flower Fruit Mountain training, or finding something about The Lady Bone Demon, he barely talks, always putting a hood over his head with his headphones on, and he no longer smiles anymore, distancing himself further and further away from everyone. And the other took notice and began to worry about MK's declining health, they tried talking to him but he would always say 'I'm fine, there's nothing to worry about' or 'you guys worry too much about me, I'm fine' but they wouldn't buy it

MK was in his room under the covers with his headphones on trying to block out the knocking coming from his door "MK, come out, we can hang out somewhere, go to the zero gravity arcade, the ice cream shop, the movies, Sandy's boat, your dads noodle shop" Mei said through the other side of the door, MK didn't respond "please, everyone is worried about you especially Mr. Tang and Mr. Macaque" Mei said trying to get her friend to come out, but MK just curled up deeper in his bed. Mei sighs and stands up "okay, bye" Mei said heading back downstairs where the others were waiting "any luck?" Pigsy asked when Mei came down stairs, the dragon girl shook her head and they all sigh "I don't get it, the kid never acted like this before not even when they discontinued the Monkey King ice pops" Pigsy said crossing his arms "could it be, that he ran into The Huns?" Sandy asked tapping his fingers together "no way, we haven't seen those bullies in months and MK would've told us" Mei said sitting down on the couch

"This can't go on" Tang said fiddling with his braid "if this keeps up he'll...he'll" Tang didn't finish as he buried his face in his scarf tears springing in his eyes as Pigsy pulled his husband into a hug, Macaque looked at the couple and up to the stairs where his cub was and sat up "I'm going back up" Macaque said heading up the staircase, he came to a stop at MK's door and knocks "Cub, it's me again, do you mind opening the door for me?" Macaque asked staring at the door. MK didn't respond and just pulled the covers further over his head, Macaque sighs but then has an idea and pulls his phone out, MK cuddles into his pillow with his Monkey King plush in his arms, not noticing that Macaque had turned into a shadow and slide under the door crack, as Macaque turned back he walked up to the bed and sat down at the edge of the bed "cub" Macaque said looking at the lump in the covers "cub I know you can hear me" Macaque said pulling the covers away from the teens head

MK turns around to face his ma pulling his headphones off "you have to tell us what's wrong so we can help you" Macaque said taking his cubs head in his hands and gently his thumbs in a soothing motion on the teens cheek "we can't if you don't" Macaque said pushing MK's bang back, MK looked at the tanned simian "I....I just...been having...really....bad nightmares" MK said not being a total lie "can I asked what they were about?" Macaque asked, MK shook his head and hugged the tanned simian around his waist and Macaque gently petted his cubs hair. Just then MK's bedroom door was knocked down by a blast of fire startling the two, they turn around to see Red Son standing by the doorway his arms crossed "MY DOOR!!!!" Pigsy shouted from behind "whoa, why didn't I think of that before" Mei asked poking her head out the door way "Xiaotian, Shūshu has informed me that you are not feeling well, that is something we cannot have" Red Son said walking into MK's room pushing his glasses up "so I propose that you, me, Shūshu, and the dragon horse girl shall go out and make you feel better!" Red Son said pointing at the teen "wh-what?" MK said in confusion

The fire demon didn't answer and grabs MK by the arms, hoisted him over his shoulder, and ran out of there "hey-wait!" MK said as Red Son runs down the stairs and out the house "hey wait for us!" Mei said grabbing MK's phone and shoes and ran out to catch up with the fire demon "we'll be back at ten" Macaque said putting his human disguise up before heading out to catch up with the teens

The four came to a stop at the zero gravity arcade entrance "so Red Boy, you ready to lose?" Mei said smirking at the fire demon, Red Son let out a gasp "how dare you I, Red Son, will not lose to a peasant!" Red Son said glaring at the dragon girl and the two runs to the nearest arcade game leaving mother and son at the entrance "shall we join them?" Macaque asked, MK nodded and the two headed inside. as the two entered the arcade they saw Red Son and Mei button smashing on a Monkey Mech 3 game throwing insults at each other as they try to defeat the other persons character "which game do you want to play?" Macaque asked, MK looked around and spotted a claw machine "can we try that?" MK asked pointing at the machine, Macaque looks over at the machine

"Okay" Macaque said smiling, the two walked towards the claw machine, insert a coin in and began to play, after three tries MK managed to won a JTTW Monkey King plush, Macaque smiled as he watches MK cuddle with the plush with a smile 'he's smiling again' Macaque thought. Then he heard the sound of a stomach growl making MK blush "do you want to get something to eat?" Macaque asked, MK nodded hiding his face in the plush "Mei, Red Son, let's go get something to eat" Macaque said making the two halt in their actions "sure, I know a place that's almost like Pigsy's Noodles" Mei said smiling while the fire demon huffs and straighten himself up "lead the way" Macaque said, Mei nodded and leads the three to the food place. The four reached the placed and they placed their orders, beef noodle soup for Macaque, spicy teriyaki chicken and fried rice for Red Son, soup with shrimp for Mei, and Dim Sum and rice for MK "are you sure that's all you want?" Mei asked when their order was placed on their table "yeah, I'm good" MK said smiling and began to eat

As the others began to eat, the Lady Bone Demons whispers began to invade MK's mind making him freeze 'no, no no no no no no, not now, please not now' he thought as her voice plagues his mind 'you were a mistake, he never wanted you' her voice echoed in his brain, he almost threw up his food but kept it down to keep his appearance up as he took deep breaths "cub, are you alright?" Macaque asked in worry "yeah ma, I'm fine, just ate too fast" MK said picking up some rice with his chopsticks and placing them into his mouth, Macaque looked at the teen and sighed he leans over and ruffles the teens hair "what in the world and I'm going to do with you?" Macaque asked smiling as he wiped a bit of rice off the teens cheeks "love me unconditionally" MK said smiling back, Macaque snorted and laughed along with MK

After eating the four spent the rest of the days doing fun activities and MK felt better now no longer hearing her whispers anymore, when the sun set Mei and Red Son head back to their homes as Macaque carried a sleeping MK on his back back to Tang and Pigsy's house, Macaque knocks on the door with his tail and the scholar opened the door "we're back" Macaque said smiling "how did it go?" Tang asked letting the tanned simian in "the kid had a great day, tired himself out" Macaque said heading up the stairs towards MK's room that has a new repaired door, the shadow king placed his cub onto the bed taking off the teens bandanna and pulling the covers over the teen "I'm glad, he really needed this" Tang said smiling in relief "yeah, he really did" Macaque said placing the plush next to MK getting up and leaving the room with Tang closing the door
