Six Months Later
Olivia Flowers' Point of View
Dear Diary,
It's a perfect sunny August day. Absolutely stunning day here in California believe it or not. It is sunny but for once it doesn't feel like fire outside. It's the perfect day to celebrate Elliot's first birthday. We got him this really cute formal looking outfit so it looks like he has a vest on and a bow tie with some jeans. Of course it's more baby friendly. Elliot has a thing for foxes so it has a fox type of theme. Everyone is setting it up but Elliot is asleep right now.
My mom is still cancer free and is getting better every day. We've been repairing our relationship and I've gotten to know her as my mom now and she's honestly amazing. Forgiving her was one of the hardest things I ever had to do but I knew it was for the best, especially for Elliot. He loves her and so does she. Plus she'll babysit him for free anytime. We've come together as a family and I'm so thankful for that.-Olivia Flowers
I put my diary in my nightstand as Elliot begins to wake up. I guess it's time to do my motherly duties.

I watch as everyone is crowding around Elliot, almost harassing him. People are just gushing and wanting to love on him and to be fair, he is loving the attention. I see Lucas pick him up and hold him in the air and speak all that stupid baby talk. Not trying to say I'm not guilty of it as well. Elliot sequels and giggles and I can't help but smile. I know it used to not look so perfect but it really is so perfect now.
My mind wandering gets interrupted by a small tap on the shoulder. I look back and it's my mom."Hey." I smile and give her a small hug.
"Hey sweetheart. I have something for you." She says.
"It's Elliot's birthday today. I don't need anything."
"I've been working on this for a while." She smiles softly before handing me the gift which is wrapped in silly unicorn and kitten wrapping paper. I open it and find a CD case. I open it and find a pink CD labeled "ME!."
"I thought you and Elliot should share it now. You're all grown up and I think he should have it too. I made a complete studio recording and one is on the piano." She explains.
"You're not going to release it?"
"God no. This song is cute and fun but deserves to stay in the vault." She laughs slightly and smiles.
"Mom, thank you so much. This is amazing. Then I'll let Elliot give it to his kids. It'll be a generational thing." I excitedly hug her and put my face into her chest and just let myself rest for a moment as she hugs back. She always gives the best hugs.
"Olivia, I am so unbelievably proud of you. It is an honor to be your mother." She pats my back before letting go of me.
"Thank you Mom."
"Now go. Go see Elliot because you'll blink and...he's like 16 and having a baby of his own."
"Jesus Christ Mom." I snicker slightly before walking away. I grab Elliot from Lucas and bounce him around a little.
"I think it's time we have some cake and sing happy birthday. What do you think my little man?"
"Mama, mama." Elliot says before randomly blabbering.
"That is not a clear answer but I'll take it." I see Dad bring over Elliot's small cake with a #1 candle on it. Everyone sings happy birthday to him and Lucas and I help blow out his candle. I know he won't remember this day but I will and I'm going to cherish it. Elliot looks at the cake not at sure what to do with it but then just full on puts his hands in and stuffs his mouth. Frosting gets everywhere. Somehow he gets it up his nose which makes me giggle.
"Ayma!" Elliot yells. He hasn't quite figured out grandma or Taylor and he somehow managed to come up with that.
"Mom, the baby wants you!"
"If Joe needs something he can some here!" She yells back while she's playing with Juliet.
"I'm talking about Elliot."
"Ohhhh that makes more sense." I see her head over a moment later with a grin on her face.
"Ayma! Ayma!"
"Olivia! He is covered in cake. Does this child have any dignity whatsoever?"
"Maybe he's saving it for later."
I see her as she rolls her eyes and picks up Elliot she holds up Elliot in front of her. "Does your Mom love you? You can tell me cause if she doesn't I'll just take you home."
"I don't know who his mom is but turns out she loves him a lot and she takes great care of him." I comment.
"I'm just gonna have to steal you then." She makes faces at him which makes him laugh more.
"At least if my baby is stolen I'll know who did it."
"Actually on second thought." Mom hands the baby back to me which happened to be accompanied by an interesting smell. She quickly makes an escape from me.
"Oh come on. Really!?" Left me with a dirty diaper like that.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." She yells back.
"Well Elliot, I think we should go inside. I doubt you wanna do this in public."
