"Loki." A voice sighed as soon as we landed. It took a couple of seconds for the haze of green to fade from my eyes, but when it did, I saw that we were in a massive library. The space from floor to ceiling was completely covered in books, all different shapes, sizes and colours.
"It is not wise to be arguing with your Father." Frigga's familiar voice reached my ears and I slowly turned around to look at her, stumbling slightly when I was hit with a wave of lightheadedness. A pair of cool hands grabbed my forearms and steadied me, causing me to look back over my shoulder to see Loki. He gave me a small smile and let go of me when I was steady again before he looked back at Frigga.
"He is not my Father." Loki said, his voice still tense.
"And does that make me not your Mother?" She asked and he sighed heavily, looking down at the ground for a couple of seconds before looking back up at her.
"He doesn't understand that we can help Emily." He said.
"He has every right to be worried about her and Asguard." Frigga replied gently, looking past Loki to me. "No offence Emily, but we don't really know what your power can do and how dangerous it could be." I nodded and bit my lip nervously.
"We have to try though." Loki sighed.
"I will try, but there are no guarantees." Frigga nodded. She looked back at me and held her hand out to me. "Come Emily." I hesitated for a moment, looking up at Loki and when he gave me an urging nod, I slowly stepped towards Frigga. I looked down at her hand before hesitantly putting my hand on hers, and a second later, we disappeared in a flash of magic. A couple of seconds later, my feet hit solid ground and I was instantly covered by a wave of calm.
"My magic is a lot softer than Loki's." Frigga's voice reached my ears as my vision slowly cleared. I turned around to the direction of her voice and noticed that we were outside in the gardens, but a little way off the palace, which made me wonder how big the royal lands were.
A flash of green distracted me and I looked next to me just in time to see Loki appear. He gave me a smile and I gave him a small one back before I looked back at Frigga.
"From what I understand Emily, you have very little control over your magic." She said. "Is that right?" I nodded, fiddling with my hands. "So my guess is that now, you are currently holding it back? Subconsciously?" I nodded again, biting my lip nervously. "Why don't you relax and just let it go?"
"I'll burn everything." I said immediately, shaking my head.
"You won't burn everything." Frigga replied, smiling softly. "It's just grass around us, I can easily use my magic to regrow it." I hesitated for a moment, looking back down at my hands.
"I don't want to hurt anyone." I said quietly.
"We have our magic to protect us." Loki spoke up.
"Just trust us." Frigga smiled comfortingly. "You can do it."
I hesitated again, looking back down at my hands. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, imagining that I was letting go of my power and letting it have complete control over me. Heat flooded my body and I knew that I was already on fire. When I opened my eyes, which were no doubt orange, I saw that my whole body was alight. When I looked over at Frigga, I didn't see fear, shock or even disgust on her face, but rather curiosity. My flames rose steadily higher and she stepped towards me, giving me a comforting smile.
"Hold your hand out." She told me and I held out my right hand. "Now close your eyes and imagine all of your fire disappearing." I hesitated for a moment, knowing that it wasn't going to work, but I didn't say anything and closed my eyes, trying to use my imagination to control my fire.
As expected, it didn't work. I spent at least an hour trying to control my power with Frigga's instructions. We tried everything she could think of, but nothing seemed to work, leaving both her and Loki very confused. In the end, we had no choice but to wait until I was so exhausted from using my power so much that it just faded away. By the time that had happened, the sun was disappearing from the sky and darkness was beginning to settle in. Loki had to support me back to the palace and I decided to skip dinner that night to just get some sleep, despite Loki trying to tell me that I needed to eat. I didn't care if I missed dinner, it wasn't like I hadn't gone without food before. And plus, I had already eaten lunch today, so I was fine.

I somehow got three hours sleep after Loki helped me back to my room. I pushed the covers off my body and walked over to the window, opening up the curtains to see that there were still a few lights on in the town, but not many. Asguard really did look beautiful at night, the water was a deep blue and still, lights from nearby houses reflecting on it. There was music from some houses and people walking around in the streets, chatting and laughing with each other. The stars in the sky twinkled and the moon shone brightly, also reflecting on the water.
"Did you get any sleep?" Asked a voice from behind me and I swear I jumped a mile high. I spun around, eyes wide and heart pounding painfully against my chest, sparks weakly lighting up my arms. The person moved out of the shadows of the doorway and I breathed out a heavy sigh of relief when I saw that it was only Loki.
"A couple of hours." I nodded, sitting down on the widow seat, propping up a pillow behind my back as I tried to snuff out my sparks. Loki came over and gently touched my forehead, sending a wave of calm through me and immediately putting out the sparks. I gave him a small grateful smile and watched as he sat down on the other side of the window seat.
"You seem worried about something." He noticed after a couple of minutes of us sitting in silence.
"I just wish I could control my power." I replied softly, looking down at my hands. "I hate being controlled by it. I... I just want to live a normal life for once."
"We'll make sure you can control it." He said firmly. "I promise." I gave him a small smile before I looked back out the window at the town. We sat in silence for a little bit and I looked back at Loki, not saying anything, but just watching him as he looked out the window at Asguard. Eventually, I felt myself begin to become sleepy again and I rested my head against the window, letting my eyes droop shut.
