An unexpected love || Ant x Stephen

The Party - Chapter Twenty Five

"Stevie!!" ant shouts up the stairs to Stephen, who was getting ready. "hurry up, we're running late!" ant was pacing back and forth down stairs, every five seconds making sure he had his keys, knowing he'd probably forget them. "and i'll be damned if dec gets there first, he'll never let us live it down"

Stephen poked his head out of his bedroom door to look down stairs to ant "it's fine. we've got plenty of time, Ant don't worry." Ant sighed and rolled his eyes as Stephen went back into his bedroom to finish getting ready.

They had a party today with all their friends and some of the people they work with on BGT and SNT. Ant has been worrying about this party all week, even though he's the one who brought up coming out to the judges and their friends and all that, on their day off. He's been quite nervous, about the whole thing, since Stephen said he wasn't ready for all that, He made sure that ant knew that he could come out to them its just that he wasn't ready for that yet, But ant didn't want to do it without Stephen, he didn't want to let the judges know, he was gay without being able to tell them about Stephen, he wanted to be able to be with Stephen in front of them, not hide his boyfriend or pretend to be 'platonic bffs' in front of them. He was sure of this one thing: He wasn't going to say anything without Stephen.

Ant continued to pace back as he stopped in front of the mirror by Stephen's front door, placing his keys down to re-adjust his tie. "ant leave your tie alone." the younger man said walking down the stairs. "you look very handsome" he said as he grabbed ants hands to stop him fiddling with his tie even more. Ant just stared at Stephen, in shock. "woah" was the only word his brain could find too describe what he was looking at. "you look-" he stopped to try and think of the perfect word to describe how the taller man looked. "unbelievable" he said half mocking Stephen, which made the man giggle, which in turn made him blush a little.

"you ready?" ant said smiling sheepishly and putting Stephen's tie straight. "i'm ready." he said nodding his head and as Ant went to leave Stephen said "keys!" as ant did a quick 360 back into the house and picked up his keys from the draws next to the front door, as Stephen laughed and shook his head and said "bloody hell, you'd loose your head if it wasn't screwed on properly"

Ant and Stephen started to walk to the party from the car park both holding hands up until they got to the outside wall of the building, they let go of each others hands, looked at each other, took a deep breath and walked into the party.

They were met by Dec at the door. "hey Stephen!" the shorter man said as he gave Stephen a quick hug. "normally i'm the one that's late" dec said laughing as ant gave Stephen a look as to say 'i told you so' and Stephen just shrugged his shoulders to say sorry, as he laughed at the face ant was pulling.

dec lead the boys into the room of the party, and Ant took a deep breath, Stephen noticed how nervous the older man was and just as he walked up next to ant he placed his hand lightly on the bottom of his back to make sure ant knew he was here for him, all night. They went into the party and the first person they saw was a slightly tipsy David on the dance floor, dancing to oasis 'don't look back in anger' which made both men start laughing "yeah" was all Dec said when he noticed the guys laughing at Davids dancing.

After a few minutes Dec went over to Ali, too talk to some of the crew, whilst Ant and Stephen stayed sat at the bar, both with a pint in their hand. When in the corner of his eye, Stephen noticed David heading to the music and saw him wink towards the two boys, this left Stephen confused until...he heard what song David was playing, which made Stephen start laughing his head off, but made ant put his head in his hands on the bar, as if he was trying to hide.

Dec snuck over to ant and Stephen also trying to hide from David, although Dec was also laughing slightly embarrassed, but Stephen could see David dancing over to the boys, once he got over he dragged both men over onto the dance floor, and got them to do the Lets get ready to rhumble dance routine and half way through the song, Ant looked over to Stephen smiling and motioned for him to join them on the dance floor but Stephen wasn't drunk enough to make that much of a fool of himself yet, he shook his head and said "no, no i'm fine" but Ant started doing exactly what David did and made his way over to Stephen and grabbed his wrist to get him onto the dance floor.
