EDDIE MUNSON HAD STAYED TRUE TO HIS WORDS. He'd picked her up after school everyday through the first week of his suspension, they'd go to his trailer and start on their English revision- getting sidetracked most of the time which meant it took longer. She'd stay for dinner sometimes, either ordering something cheap or finding whatever scraps they could easily cook in his kitchen.

It had took a little convincing for Billy to allow it, seeing as he was living up to his protective brother role. But she'd always phone home when there, he'd made her promise she would. It was an odd feeling, Billy had completely changed, and things finally started to settle more at home. There was just Neil now, who always had something to say.

That weekend she'd stayed at her house with her siblings, her parents going out for the night.

They were sat in the living room, deciding on which movie to watch, having a hard time because everyone had different tastes. Finally deciding on Star Wars, something everybody could enjoy, Billy went out into the kitchen to heat up some popcorn.

Max and Sally were under the blanket together with there feet propped up on cushions above the coffee table. Max had a content smile on her face, and her sister couldn't miss it.

"What you smiling at?" She poked her elbow, Max swivelling her head around, looking a little embarrassed.

"It's just, Billy's changed" She lowered her voice. "He's never done this before, he's started acting like a real brother"

Sally brought her into a side hug, squeezing her tight. "I know, I think he's starting to realise we're not the bad guys"

"I'm still worried about him though" Max whispered, glancing behind her just incase Billy walked through.

She sighed, feeling the exact same way. "I know, Neil is an asshole, it's his fault for everything"

"As long as we look out for him" Max nodded, coughing a little when Billy trudged back through, holding three bags full of popcorn.

"I may have burnt them a little, but I'm not making you guys any new ones" He sat down beside Sally after throwing the bags at them. He still had his stubborn tone, but they knew he wasn't being serious with it, that was just his wonderful personality.

They started the tape and watched the lengthy movie, the only noise being heard was the ruffling of the popcorn or Billy trying to stretch the blanket off the girls so he could have some, of course being denied.

Hours later, the end credits scene rolled and they all heard their parents stumble in, a loud bang being heard from the door. Billy sat up in full alert mode as Neil was clearly drunk and in a bad mood from the way the noise level was rising.

Sally also sat straight up and kept Max behind her as he came into the living room and fell onto his armchair.

He lit up a cigarette, his beer bottle loose in his hand. The three siblings kept their eyes on him, not wanting to say anything.

"Hey kids, fun night?" Their mother said meekly, moving to stand beside the seated Neil.

"Yeah, we watched Star Wars" Max happily spoke up, the older twos eyes still not moving.

Susan Hargrove didn't deserve the things she had to deal with, she tried her hardest with her family, just wanting everyone to get along. It explained why she never fought things, she was like Sally, always wanting to keep the peace. She went to take her bag off from around her neck, but accidentally knocked Neil's beer bottle, sending it spilling to the floor.

Neil's face immediately contorted, anger flaring up in his eyes. "You stupid bitch, what are you doing?!"

Susan jolted a little, trying to form her words but only stutters came out.
