BACK AT SCHOOL, SHE WAS HEAD DEEP IN A TEXTBOOK ONCE AGAIN. Sally had her first exam, History after lunch, and she was studying whilst walking down the hallway- contemplating on just winging it.
"I hate to break it to you Steve, but highlighting the whole textbook isn't going to help" Robin peered over to what Steve was doing, also having the same history exam. Her comment being ignored by Steve, or maybe he didn't hear as he highlighted another bright pink line across his page.
They made it to the library together, sitting down and the older two not giving one another any acknowledgment- too busy trying too cram in as many facts about the War of 1812.
"Will you guys take a break or something?" Robin sighed whilst looking between the two frowning at their pages. "I've never heard you both so quiet..."
Sally shook her head whilst scrawling something onto a revision card, crossing out the previous sentence. She'd didn't know why she ever thought taking History would be easy.
Robin sat there twiddling her thumbs, having nothing dire to do herself. She doubted they'd notice if she just stood up and left. Steve took another swig of his sugary energy drink- he'd had about three now, seeing as he'd stayed up until the early hours cramming last night. Sally had been sensible and cut her losses, having a full nights sleep, but it all blew up in her face that morning as she realised she should've worked harder.
She'd left Eddie that Saturday and had a lazy Sunday, just moping around in her pyjamas and eating junk food that they'd had in the house- there was now nothing left. She'd even caught a glance of Billy flicking through a textbook - whilst she sat there doing absolutely nothing.
One day she'd be stressing for hours over her exams, and then the next she'd just shrug it off- it wasn't very productive.
"Excited for your first exam?" Eddie took a seat between Sally and Robin, a bright smile which juxtaposed to the twos moody ones. Sally glanced at him with a tight lipped smile, getting back too her work quickly after. "Are they okay?" Eddie lowered his voice and turned too Robin.
"I think they're brain dead" She shrugged, not receiving any snarky comments back.
Eddie lightly snorted, rocking back on his chair for a moment as he amusingly watched them both.
"When was the year for the war again?" Steve finally lifted his head, clicking his fingers at Sally.
"What do you mean when was the war?" She asked, wide-eyed. "It's called the war of 1812?!"
He flung his pen onto the table distressed, taking a moment to himself too contemplate everything.
"You alright there Harrington? How's studying gone?" Eddie snickered, Robin trying to hide her own smile.
"Oh yeah, really good" Steve sarcastically beamed. "Got my textbook here, been studying all night- got these energy drinks to keep me awake..." They were really trying to hold in their laughter now. "And nothings fucking going in!"
"Unlucky pal" Eddie leaned over to pat his shoulder. "You okay, love?" He turned too Sally who wasn't listening, nudging her too get her attention.
She looked up with raised eyebrows. "Huh?"
"Look guys, I know you've got your exam next, but you need a break" Robin spoke, finally getting both of their attentions at last.
"Can't, need to pass" Sally mumbled, Steve nodding along.
An idea popped into both Eddie and Robin's heads as they glanced at one another, they began too drag their textbooks away from them at the same time- swatting their hands away as they tried too claw them back.
