Third Person POV
"Alright boys, I'd better head to our team," Zack said standing up from the stool. He takes his scroll and messages Ajax.
"Hey, can you pick me up? I'm done eating."
The shadow beneath him becomes more opaque and moves around like a fluid. Suddenly A shadow figure comes out of it and latches its hand onto Zack's shoulder. They both fall into the shadow. Zack yelps in the process and the shadow merely smiles at his reaction since he is already familiar with the feeling. In an instant, they come out of a tree's shadow in Beacon's courtyard.
"Woah, that feels weird," Zack says shivering from the strange sensation. "Alright, what are we doing?"
"I have no idea," Ajax shrugs. "How about you tell me about you and Ruby?"
Zack's demeanor changes to a flustered and nervous manner.
"Whatever are you talking about? Me and Ruby? Pssht Nah!" Zack nervously says, trying to cover the truth.
Ajax doesn't buy it at all and glares at Zack with a "are you fucking serious" look.
"Okay okay! Ruby and I have been together officially since the dance, but before that, we were trying to get something going," Zack explains, finally submitting to Ajax's glare.
"I respect your privacy, but why haven't you both told anyone?"
"We figured we'd just go with the flow and let it happen, it's more of a friendly relationship rather than a lovely-dovely one, you get me?"
"Yeah. I understand. You guys seem to be made for one another if I'm being honest."
"We get that a lot, and we think the same," Zack chuckles rubbing the back of his head.
Silence falls in the courtyard. Zack's expression turns to a serious one, for the first time in a long time.
"G, this may be random, but we worry about your hate for your name. Y'know, if there's something you want to tell us, we're here for you."
"I mean, that hate developed no thanks to my father. You probably know him. Shade Ghost."
"I've heard about him, but not what he did."
"You know what? Fuck it, let's all go to the dorm. I'll explain my hatred."
"You sure? You don't have to."
"But I want to. We're a team and knowing each other is important. Grab on."
Zack puts one hand on Ajax's shoulder. Ajax concentrates and his shadow beneath them swirls and they fall into it once again.
They walk out of their dorm room wall's shadow. Zack shivers and lets go of Ajax's shadow. They look around and notice that Hana was sitting on her bed reading a book, but Titus was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey guys," Hana looks up from her book. "That's a nice party trick and congrats."
"Thanks, it is. Where's Titus?"
"He was showering. He should be out any minute."
"Okay. We're having a 'meeting'."
"That's new. What's the occasion?"
"Just something I wanted to tell you guys."
Titus then exits the bathroom shortly. He had no shirt on and a towel around his waist.
"Oh yeah, baby, nothing like an Ice-cold shower," Titus says relaxed. He then notices Zack and Ajax have arrived. "Ah, you guys are finally here. Congrats on the win."
