Ajax POV.

"Wake up!" I hear Zack's voice booming through the dorm as he violently shakes me.

"Why me...?" I mutter under my breath.

"We could be chosen today to fight!" Zack backs off and sits down on Hana's bed.

Once fully awake, I look around and notice only Zack is in the room with me.

"Where's everyone?" I asked looking at the hour in my Scroll. It showed nine AM. "And why are we up so early in the morning?"

"They left with teams RWBY and JNPR. They are having breakfast at the cafeteria," Zack stands up and goes to the door. "And they're waiting for us."

"Right. You can go with them. I'll shower quickly and meet you guys there," I stand up and head to the bathroom.

Zack nods and leaves the dorm room as energetic as ever. I enter the bathroom and turn on the running water. Some quick scrubbing and self-care later. My shower was done and I exit the bathroom in only underwear, scrubbing my head with a towel to remove any excess water on my hair. I don't want to risk being seen by anyone completely naked. I quickly put on a black t-shirt, some jeans, and a black hoodie since it was still rather chilly. Once I was completely ready I exited my dorm and headed to the cafeteria, where supposedly my teammates, some friends, and Weiss would be there waiting for me.

After a short stroll, I found myself in the cafeteria. It wasn't hard to miss the others thanks to their appearances and Ruby and Zack waving furiously at me.

I wonder if Zachary and Ruby are a thing...

I approach them and Weiss scoots over to make space for me next to her.

"Thanks, Ice Queen," I say slightly leaning on her.

The Ice Queen responds with a simple "hmph". She isn't one to give too much affection when others are around.

"Finally you're here," Hana says after she swallows her cereal.

"How long have you all been here?" I ask, eyeing the available food at a distance.

"For an hour at least," Weiss responds, elegantly eating some eggs.

I nod in acknowledgment and summon a shadow next to me. "Fetch a bowl of cereal for me with milk. Here."

I grab a random napkin and a pen I found laying around. Then I write on the napkin "Cereal with some milk, please."

"What is that for?" Ruby asks reading what's on the napkin.

"It's for the shadow since it can't talk," I explain and give it to the shadow to hold. Then it heads off into the crowds. "It should be back soon enough."

The lady serving food at the cafeteria hands a student a plate full of regular breakfast.

"What can I get you, honey-..." She interrupts herself as she notices a shadow figure approach her with a napkin.

The shadow then hands the lady the napkin. She looks at its white eyes and then reads what's written on the napkin. After a moment she reluctantly hands the shadow a bowl with cereal and a milk carton. The shadow takes it and leaves without saying or doing anything else.

At our table, I was waiting patiently for my cereal as I leaned on my hand. My friends were all having conversations and others eating quietly. Soon enough, my shadow arrives and puts the bowl and the milk carton on the table in front of me.

"Ah yes! Finally..." I mutter and dismiss the shadow as it turns into a cloud of dark smoke.

"That's all you're having?" Weiss asks leaning slightly toward me.
