"That'll be 20 Lien" The ice cream shop worked said, handing us our ice creams. Weiss had ordered a regular vanilla ice cream and I ordered cookies and cream ice cream.
"Here," I handed the worker Lien, which he took and I grabbed both of the cones.
"Alright, enjoy your ice creams, and do come back!" The worked said with his obligatory smile.
"You too," I said. "Wait what?"
Social anxiety at its best...
"Your ice cream, miss Schnee," I handed her the cone.
"Haha..." Weiss said sarcastically. "Must you be a pest?"
I don't respond but instead, chuckle.
"Wanna go for a walk?" I asked her and then took a lick of my ice cream.
"Yeah, let's go," Weiss said as she nodded and we exited the ice cream shop.
We were walking around Vale just chatting and admiring the scenery. Occasionally taking some licks from our respective ice creams.
"We should do this more often, don't you think?" I broke the small silence and looked over at her. She had just finished eating her ice cream.
"I suppose this is a pretty nice change of pace," She looks over at me. "Next time, let me pay though. It is only fair."
"If that's what bothering you, of course," I said with a smile and took the last lick from my ice cream and ate the cone.
"It's not that it's bothering me, but It's only fair for the both of us," She said.
"Yeah, you're right," I agreed. We saw a bench and we decided to sit on it, just to relax for a bit. A slight silence fell again but was shortly broken by Weiss.
"Ajax?" Weiss asked sheepishly. I look over at her with curiosity as to what she's going to say.
"I've got a question," She was looking at the floor. She had her hands on her lap but I could notice that she was tweaking her skirt.
"Yes, Weiss?" I respond.
"Why are you doing this?" She said rather bluntly, which took me aback.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
"I mean, why would you want to go out with me? Or hang out with me at all?" She said shyly.
"I could be asking the same thing, Ice Queen," I responded. It seemed as if she wasn't expecting that answer since she slightly leaned her head to her right in confusion. "My past self would've already questioned everything we've done together so far. Such as, why hasn't she yelled at me for breathing?"
Weiss was not amused by this, but she slightly giggled at the end.
"I can't pinpoint why. But let's just say that I think you're a very cool person. No pun intended," I said, earning a giggle from Weiss. "Jokes aside, I'd love to get to know you more. I know that behind that signature Schnee ice-cold attitude, there is a warm and caring heart." As I said this, a noticeable blush started growing on her face.
"I-I'd like to get to know you more also," Weiss said sheepishly. "I-I guess you're also pretty cool. You're lucky I've taken a liking to you, Ajax Ghost!" I chuckled at her remark. She took a moment and gasped sharply.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" She put her hands on her mouth. I raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"What's wrong?"
"What I just said..." She paused for a second. "You don't like being called your name..."
"You're right, I don't," I said and she looked sadder. "But I've noticed that if people who I care for say it, I don't mind it. I suppose you can connect the pieces."
Weiss had a look of relief on her face and her body relaxed.
"But, I thought you didn't-" I cut her off so that she stops taking a toll on herself.
"Weiss, it's fine. I don't mind if YOU specifically say it," I explained. "If anything, I've grown to not hate it, coming from you."
She looked in thought, processing it.
"If that's the case, then I shall call you Jax," I smiled at this, it was too cute. A slight blush was present on her face. "S-since it's shorter and easier to say, of course..."
"Right... I'll allow it. ONLY for you, ok?" I said. She hastily nodded. "Don't push your luck too much, though."
"Oh? Then what if I do, Jax?" She teased back.
"Do it, and you'll find out," Our faces were getting closer and closer by the second.
"You're just giving more reasons to do it."
Our noses were almost touching and our heads started to drift closer and closer, slightly leaning each to our right side. She slowly closed her eyes and so did I just after she did. It was happening. Until it wasn't...
BEEEEEEEEEP!
Weiss' scroll rang. Cock blocked...
We both got startled and we separated quickly. It'd be an understatement to say that we were both slightly blushing. She hastily answered what seemed to be a group call coming from Blake.
