I was very tired all day and all my energy was depleted. When we got home, Tita Rein immediately told me to go up to my bedroom to rest. We even played volleyball that afternoon with Tita Rein and Ate Millie, and Radish didn't stop teasing me there either.
Even though he didn't say a thing, just seeing his smile while he was looking at me made my head feel hot.
He just really wouldn't stop!
I heard a series of knocks from the door of the room where I was staying. I was lying in bed, reading something on my news feed. I looked up at the door and immediately grinned when I heard the doorknob being turned but it wouldn't open. I locked it before I dive on the bed.
"Who's that?" I asked, voice steadfast.
"Lemonade," it was Harminder's voice. Not surprising, though. "Why did you lock the door?"
"Bakit?" But because I was annoyed with him, I locked it. "What do you need?"
"Dinner."
I don't want to see Radish, but I don't want to not show up because Tita Rein will be there. I don't want her to think na I'm maarte, or nag-iinarte. And this will be my last dinner with them.
I thought Harminder had left because he didn't answer. But I looked at the door again when I felt someone leaning there.
"Are you mad at me, Lemonade?" There was again his tender voice. He probably had predicted that I locked the door because I don't want him to get inside, or I don't want to see him. "What did I do?"
I tsked. He had the guts to asked me that? Really?
"I was stopping him, didn't I?"
"I'm sorry. I thought it was just fine with you--"
"And you never asked me, right? You never asked if it's just still fine with me!
Sorry. I'll talk to him."
He was so insensitive! And he was enjoying what he was doing.
"You should really talk to him, Harminder. I don't know how long I can be patient."
After I fixed myself, I went downstairs wearing my slippers. I greeted Tita Rein with a smile, who was looking at the dishes on the table one by one. I realized that they never ran out of food. Kasi laging mayroon at laging puno ang refrigerator nila.
