you were awoken by sounds of pans dropping onto the floor in your kitchen, followed by a few curses. you looked beside you in the bed, expecting to see your girlfriend, robin, but she wasn't there. you checked the clock on your bedside table. 8:30. who's in the kitchen at this time in the morning?

you wiped the sleep out of your eyes and got out of bed. you made your way towards the kitchen, hoping to find your girlfriend and you did. you saw her in the kitchen gently placing bowls and pans on the counter, next to some sort of ingredients.

"robin?" you said, making her jump and turn to face you. "what are you doing?" you begin to approach her and she pushed the ingredients to the side, trying to hide them from you. "uh, i was just... getting something to drink?" she replied, trying to convince you. "so, what's all this?" you asked, gesturing towards the mess on the counter. she opened her mouth to speak but you cut her off. "and i want the truth, robin." she sighed in defeat.

"fine, i wanted to bake you a cake... y'know as a surprise but then i dropped the pan and then i woke you up and now, here i am, ruining the surprise." she explained, looking down a little. "sorry for waking you up, by the way." she added. the corners of your mouth turned up into a smile as you walked over to her and wrapped your arms around her, making her look up and hug you back.

"robin, that is the sweetest thing anybody's ever done for me, thank you." you smiled. she held you tighter and let her head rest on your shoulder. you stayed like this for a little while longer before stepping back. "i'm going to change and we are going to bake this cake together, okay?" you told her. she nodded and smiled.

you rushed upstairs, grabbing the first thing you saw out of your wardrobe and quickly changed. you ran back downstairs. "okay! let's do this!" robin exclaimed. you smiled at her excitement before picking up the recipe. you placed the recipe beside you both on the counter.

robin began to weigh things out while you began to stir the ingredients together once robin put them in the bowl. "okay, so we're almost finished. we just need-" you were cut off as a large cloud of flour was being blown into your face. you squeezed your eyes shut, making sure none of it went into your eyes. you slowly opened your eyes and saw robin trying to fight off her smile as she held her hands behind her back.

you grabbed a handful of flour and threw it at her. she gasped and did the same back to you. soon enough, it turned into a flour fight. you looked around before picking up an egg, holding it in your hand and looking at robin, a smirk creeping onto your face. robin looked at the egg in your hand and then back to you. "no, y/n. i surrender. you win, okay?" she said holding up her hands and walking backwards. you followed her, still holding the egg as her back hit the wall. you smirked at her before cracking the egg in her hair.

robin gasped as she quickly tried to get the egg out of her hair. you were in hysterics as you watched her struggle to get the egg out of her hair. she got some of it out before wiping it on your hair and rushing back over to the flour, grabbing a handful and throwing it in your hair where she put the egg, it was stuck in your hair. "robin!" you shrieked whilst still laughing. "you started it!" she laughed. "okay, let finish this cake, okay?" you said walking back over to the batter.

a while later, the cake was ready. it was sitting out whilst it cooled down. "while that cools, i'm going for a shower to get all of this out of my hair." you said to robin. you began walking upstairs when you heard robin following behind you. you stopped and turned, looking at her. "what're you doing?" you asked her, eyeing her suspiciously. "nothing. just thought i could join you in the shower, better for the environment, y'know?" she smirked and winked at you. you blushed slightly and smacked her arm. "robin buckley!" "so, i'm guessing that's a no on the shared shower?" she joked. you rolled your eyes playfully and went upstairs, quickly getting into the shower.

after you had your shower, robin decided to go for one too. you walked into the kitchen and began making icing to put on top of the cake. you were too busy focusing on the icing that you didn't even realise the pair of arms snaking around your waist until you felt a few kisses being placed onto the side of your neck. you smiled as you set down the spoon you were mixing with and placed your hands on top of robins. she rested her chin on your shoulder and looked up at you. she quickly spun you round.

"there she is, my pretty, no, gorgeous girlfriend." she said before pressing a kiss to your nose, your forehead and both of your cheeks before smiling and looking at you. a look filled with adoration and love. she leaned in and kissed your lips. you melted into the kiss. you moved your hands around on the counter behind you before accidentally dipping your full hand into the bowl of icing. you pulled back from robin and looked at your hand. robin immediately burst out laughing. "how did you dip your entire hand in a bowl of icing?" she said in between laughs. you rolled your eyes and walked to the sink and turned turn tap on. "yeah, yeah. ha, ha. very funny." you muttered before washing the icing off of your hands.

robin walked over to you before taking your hand and pressing a kiss to the back of it. "you know i love you. with our without icing on your hands." she joked. you rolled your eyes again. "i think it'll be better if i make the icing." she stroked your cheek. "go sit down, i'll bring you a piece when the cake is ready." you smiled and gave her another kiss before sitting down on the couch in the living room.
