Today is a new day. It had been a few days since the altercation between Aiden, Claire's minions and I. Aiden had been clearly avoiding me, probably still upset with the fact that I intervened in front of everyone. Claire seemed rather smug about how Aiden was avoiding me even more than before now, but the upside for me was that he was also vehemently steering clear of her. The on edge feeling my wolf was pushing on me had been subdued over the last few days, but there was still an unsettledness to my wolf's behaviour, like she was upset by something.
Just as I finished getting ready there was a knock at my door. "Come in" I yelled still checking myself out in the mirror. The door opened and Hannah walked in, already dressed and ready to head down to the refrec. We made eye contact in the mirror, scanning my reflection she noticed that I looked slightly better than usual.
"Nice hair. Who's the look for? Anyone I should know about?" She quizzed me, unsure about why I decided to do something different for once. I had intricately braided my hair today and I looked good.
"Oh no, no reason. I just felt good today, and thought a change from my usual would be nice is all, you know I don't have anyone at the moment" I said back, a little sad that I hadn't met anyone yet. Maybe my mother was right about finding a mate, how it would help me to feel complete and loved, god knows my family didn't show me the love they showed my brothers. Trying not to be saddened by the turn my thoughts had taken, I forced a smile on my face, turning to Hannah. "You ready to go?" I asked.
Hannah could see through my facade, asking "Hey are you okay? You seemed really down a second ago, you know if you need someone to talk to I'm always here right?"
I smiled at Hannah, getting a little teary, and hugged her, grateful for her kind words. "You know the only other person to say that to me is Bryan, and of course i'll keep that in mind, but really I'm ok. Now shall we go get some food?"
Hannah not looking completely convinced I was ok, still nodded her head in agreement, signalling us to leave my room and head to breakfast, where we met the boys as usual on the quad. Ever since the night of the fight, when we ran in wolf form as a group we had been closer than ever. Not even Claire could ruin the bond we had created.
At breakfast conversation happened as normal, everyone just talking about their plans for the day and other academy related things. Whilst my friends were talking I decided to just listen for a bit, lost in my own thoughts when I remembered the book in my bag about Alpha Sheila. I still needed to read that book.
"Hey guys, don't wait on me at lunch, I think I'm going to go to the library and read some of that book on Alpha Sheila. I'll eat in there" I informed the group of my decision, which stopped the current conversation about Bryan's beta training and how oh so amazing he is.
At my statement Vince asked "Hey do you mind if I come with, there's some other readings I would like to do, might as well keep you company?"
"Yeah sure, I guess it would be nice to have you there for when I have questions, knowing you you'll definitely have some of the answers I need" I replied back, grinning at him. Vince grinned back at me, knowing there was some truth to my words.
Hannah and Bryan both looked at me and asked at the same time "Can I come too?" In which they then looked at each other a little freaked out they had asked at the same time.
I laughed at their expressions "I guess you can come, as long as you find something to do other than causing chaos, or distracting me, I seriously do need to read this book" I said.
Bryan was the one to reply knowing that most of what I said was directed to him, he is known for causing trouble, especially when it came to the female population, If he ever settled with a mate I would be surprised, "Fineee. I'll try to be on my best behaviour, I promise" he said reaching his little finger towards me. We linked pinkies to make a pinky promise that he would behave.
