Waking up today I felt rejuvenated, my wolf humming in agreement, even she was excited about our training session with Aiden later today. But we had to wait until after training class at the end of the day for that. Getting dressed I put effort into styling my hair, and making sure I looked good. The whole time assuring myself that none of this was for Aiden. Just as I was finishing off the fishtail braid in my hair, Hannah burst into my room, also strumming with excitement. Upon seeing me up and dressed she stumbled to a stop, stunned as she stared at me wide eyed.
"Wow, you really can make an effort when you want to" She grinned at me mischievously, "this wouldn't happen to have anything to do with your training session with Aiden later now?" She quizzed waggling her eyebrows in suggestion at me.
Trying my hardest not to blush in response I turned my face away mumbling back "No! Why would it, he doesn't even like me like that and you know it" I sighed looking towards Hannah again, who looked at me with sympathy.
Reaching to place a hand on my shoulder in comfort Hannah spoke "That's so not true! You should have seen the way he looked at you at the diner the other day, and the fact that you're the only girl, if not person he's ever bothered to talk to has to mean something!" She exclaimed, continuing on she shrugged her shoulders slightly "Even if he doesn't like you like that, then its his loss and he's stupid for it, you're an amazing women, person, friend and alpha, even if you don't like to admit it."
Hearing her call me an amazing alpha was a surprise, considering I don't follow the normal behaviour of most alphas, and probably won't ever actually reach the alpha position in my pack. Even my wolf seemed extremely satisfied with hearing this, which was a change to how she felt arriving at this place. Shaking out of my reverie and thoughts, I just smiled at Hannah, a little shy over the compliment she gave me. "Well how about we head to breakfast, I bet the boys are dying to see us" I muttered.
"Yeah I bet they are missing their 'Alpha'" she mocked, having noticed my reaction to the comment, I guess I really can't hide anything from her. Shaking my head at her mocking behaviour I just opened the door, gesturing her out of the room. Once we left the room we found Darla waiting for us at the dorm entrance to head towards breakfast. She really was a part of our group now, guess its time I got my match making skills going I grinned to myself.
The boys were already seated at our usual table when we arrived at the refrec, all of us grabbing some food before sitting down. With the addition of Darla to our group we nearly filled a whole table now, something that some of the other groups of alphas and their lower positions didn't do, because even though its good to mix for networking it didn't mean people were friends. Looking across the room I noticed that Aiden was back in his usual seat now, I guess chatter about the 'incident' had quietened down now.
Making eye contact with Aiden, I saw the side of his mouth quirk up into a smile, something that most people wouldn't notice. Not being the only one to notice Darla piped up next to me "Oh don't think I didn't notice that look from Aiden there girl" she nudged me slightly "you've sooo got it bad for him, its adorable."
My wolf bristled a little at being called adorable, she wasn't exactly an adorable wolf at her size and strength, but she calmed down quick over the comment. Darla didn't know yet. This confused me slightly because she normally never does this, but I brushed it aside, assuming she is still elated over our training session with Aiden later, even she was growing more attached to him over time.
I broke eye contact with Aiden to quickly glare at Darla, hoping Aiden hadn't heard that. Darla just laughed at my glare, ignoring me and returning to her food, oblivious to the appreciative glance she was receiving from Vince across the table. Looking between them I realised how good of a match they would be, they would balance each other out perfectly. Imagine if they ended up being mates, I though happily, excited to see what could happen between these two. Someone might as well find love and happiness in each other.
