I was sat over on the benches by the time Aiden found me after class had finished, ready for us to start our training now. I had completely forgotten about it in the time between Hank and Claire. Aiden could see that I was a little distracted so asked "Hey what's up? You seem a little lost there"
I turned my attention to Aiden my thoughts now lost and blurted "Huh?" It took me a couple of seconds to register what he had said to me before I replied "Oh ermm" I debated mentioning it to him but remembered Claire had said something about staying away from Aiden again so I continued on "well I was watching you spar earlier and Claire approached me again telling me to stay away from you. What is with that by the way? It's not the first time she has told me too." I asked in return down playing our interaction.
Aiden looked a little suspicious at my relaying of the events with Claire but blanched when i asked him about why she was so obsessed with him, his face shutting down to the expressionless facade everyone is so used to with him. This only raised my suspicions further about him and Claire. Maybe she was right and something was really going on with these two that nobody knew about.
"Nothing! I swear I don't know why she's like that about me she's always done it since we were kids. I've known her since I was little only because our parents are neighbouring packs, but that's it. I've never really seen much of her until we both ended up here at the academy. I swear i don't know what her problem is" he kept rattling on promising he knew nothing. I didn't quite believe him but decided to leave it at that not wanting to push the matter since he was clearly uncomfortable with the topic but I vowed to find out the real story here.
Deciding I had heard enough I interrupted his prattling, raising my hands up and laughing "Ok, Ok I get it, it's ok you don't need to explain yourself to me really, how about we get on with training now then hey? I believe I have a move to teach you" I joked trying to ease the tension a little. Aiden spluttered at hearing he didn't need to explain it to me, wanting to say something in return but I didn't give him the chance to as I got up and strutted onto the field and towards the closest sparring circle.
There was only a few other groups on the field all doing various different things, and mostly male alphas who were obsessed with their fitness and strength, all of them pretty much ignoring us. We only got a few curious glances probably wondering why a girl would be out on the field at this time training.
Aiden must have followed me onto the field because when I spun around he was only a few feet away from me, which startled me a little as I didn't hear him following, I guess I was still a little in my own head. Shaking all thoughts from my head, knowing I would come back to them later, I focussed on Aiden who was looking at me, assessing me.
I raised an eyebrow in question at his look to which he blurted out "I heard you got hit pretty hard during your session with Hank. But you look fine now. Im still surprised you got paired up with him to be honest"
My heart warmed a little at the obvious concern in his voice for me, my wolf expelling happy vibes too. "Oh that! Yeah it wasn't actually as bad as it looked, I guess he was taking it easy on me a little" I said as way of a dismissive reply, trying to smooth over the fact my wolf had already nearly healed the damage from the hit, something even some of the stronger alphas would need at least half an hour to heal, compared to the 20 minutes I needed. Aiden seemed to reluctantly accept my explanation, i guess for now we were both content to let the other continue to hide our secrets.
Directing the conversation back to our training session i instructed Aiden to get into his sparring stance. Walking around him i pointed out areas of strength and weakness I had noticed in the small time I had to watch him spar earlier. Aiden didn't seem too impressed with my commenting but took it in board. After all he did ask for my help in leaning some stuff. Deciding Aiden was looking a little too pissed off now i quickly moved on to teaching him what he actually wanted to know.
