Haley was home when I got back, so I had to either tell her where I was going or make up a lie about it. I knew that she would figure it out soon but she gets too weird about me being with Arianna cause she asks so many questions.
But I knew she would find out soon, so I might as well tell her.
"Where are you going?"
I look over at her as she was walking out of the living room holding a cup in her hands. I was just about to leave cause Arianna texted me but Haley caught me before I could.
"Arianna wants me to come over to her house."
"Again?" She smiles.
I roll my eyes. "Yeah."
"And you're just going to go over there? I swear this woman is changing you and I love it."
Sighing, I watch as she walks to the kitchen and I follow her before stopping in the doorway and leaning against the wall.
Haley looks over at me and smiles. "You really like her, huh?"
I shrug. "A little."
"A little?" She chuckles. "Morgan.. you've been acting different and been meeting up with her without me knowing until you told me. You've been going to her house."
"Once."
"This is the second time."
"So?"
She smiles. "I'm just proud of you."
"For?"
"Allowing someone in. Opening up to someone."
I shook my head before looking away. "Look.. I like her but not enough to let her inside my head. I still keep myself closed off, ok?"
"But what you're doing is a lot, Morgan. You're improving on so many levels and I'm proud of you. This woman is changing you."
"I'm leaving."
"I love you and have fun!"
Shaking my head, I walk out of house and to my car. I heard laughing then looked over to see a few girls walking down the street, one was riding a skateboard and the other two were riding bikes.
After I got in my car, I started it then backed out of the driveway. I drove down the street and stopped at the stop sign before turning and driving away.
When I finally got onto the main road that lead to the city, I turned up some music then had the windows down. I placed my hand out the window and leaned my head back as I got lost in the music.
What Haley said came to mind and I couldn't help but think that I was changing somewhat but I wasn't sure if it had something to do with Arianna or not.
I did like her but I wasn't about to let my guard down.
That's something I wouldn't do no matter how big these feelings got.
It was just the beginning of whatever we were.
When I made it to the city, I went down a street before making a few turns and finally reaching her street. I pulled on the side before getting out and grabbing my phone.
Her car was still in the driveway with a flat tire and I looked over at it as I was walking to the door.
I knocked and waited as I heard her walking inside, then the door opened and she stood there smiling at me before moving out the way. "Come in."
I walked in and looked around as she closed the door then I followed her through the hall and into the living room where the tv was on and a movie was playing.
"You want anything to drink?"
Nodding, I saw her walk out as I sat on the couch and looked around. I didn't know why I was so interested in this house but there was something about it that made me like it.
She came back with two drinks in her hand and gave me one as she sat down next to me on the couch. I nodded at her as I opened the can of soda and took a sip before looking at the tv.
"Does your sister know your here?"
I look over at her as she was looking at me before nodding. "Yeah. She caught me before I could leave the house."
"You weren't going to tell her you were coming over here?"
I shrug. "Not really cause she asks too many questions about you."
She smiles as she nods. "Like what?"
"Dumb questions."
"No questions are dumb."
"Yeah well, when it comes to my sister."
I heard her chuckle. "That's what siblings do."
Looking at her, I watch her for a moment. "Do you have any siblings?"
"I have a younger brother but he lives up in Texas so I don't really get to see him much."
Nodding, I look over at the tv for a moment. I was watching it as I could feel her staring at me but I didn't look over.
Whatever was on the tv somewhat caught my interest but I glanced over at Arianna every few seconds as she was watching tv as well.
But when I glanced over at her, she caught me and smiled at me. I looked away before feeling the couch move and when I looked over at her, she was moving closer to me.
She looks at me and slightly smiled before getting close enough to me where are bodies were almost touching.
I couldn't help but stare at her, wondering what she was doing before she wrapped her arm around me and held onto me.
My body was trying to react and move her away but I let it go as I looked at the tv before hearing her.
"You can relax, Morgan."
I look over at her as she was looking at me. "What?"
"You're stiffed. I can feel you."
Looking at her, I slowly let my body relax then sinked back into the couch as she did the same. I could feel her arm still around me as her hand was resting on my stomach.
It was hard for me to relax around someone but Arianna was different.
And it was terrifying.
My mind was screaming but I ignored it as I looked at the tv, trying to focus but all I could focus on was her arm around me.
Then she rested her head on my shoulder and I slightly turned my head towards her before looking back at the tv.
Her legs moved up on the couch and was tucked underneath her. I watched for a moment before looking back at the tv.
We stayed in that position for several minutes cause the movie that we were watching ended and another one started before Arianna moved away.
She picked her drink up and took a sip before placing it back down and moving back into the same position.
I saw her look over at me before moving her arm away from me. "Is this ok? I'm sorry for not asking before-"
"No. It's fine."
I grabbed her arm and placed it around me before looking back at the tv. I felt her move closer to me before leaning over and kissing my cheek and placing her head on my shoulder.
My mind was still going all over at the place but I tried not letting it get to me. I was trying to control everything in my body and let myself relax for the first time in years.
Not knowing how long this would last but hoping it'll last a while.
