"Why aren't you at work?"

Haley was in the kitchen when I woke up the next morning. I was surprised and when I looked over at the clock, it was a little after seven so I was confused when I saw her standing in the kitchen.

She smiles as she was sitting at the table with a laptop and a cup next to her. "I'm off today."

Nodding, I made me a cup of coffee before turning around and facing her. I lean against the counter as I took a few sips of coffee before seeing her look over at me.

"So, you never really told me what happened yesterday."

"What do you mean?"

"At your girlfriends." I saw her smile.

Shaking my head, I took another sip. "She's not my girlfriend."

"Not yet." She smiles.

I roll my eyes before taking another sip of my coffee then glancing over at the clock on the wall. I heard her typing on her laptop, not really knowing what she was doing.

She's usually never on her laptop and it peaked my curiosity as to what she was doing.

Her work is a realtor and it seems like a pretty decent job but I didn't see what she saw in it.

People isn't my talent and I don't want a job that involves people, which is hard to do now cause every job has to interact with people in some sort of way.

Unless it's a stay at home job.

Which didn't sound so bad.

"When are you leaving for therapy?"

I shrug as she was watching me. "In about thirty minutes." I took another sip of my coffee before finishing it then placing the cup in the sink.

After walking out of the kitchen, I went upstairs to my room to get ready. I looked at my phone as I was finding something to wear then saw a text from Arianna.

I'm running late cause I had a flat tire but Mrs. Janet already knows and said you could either wait around or go to the office

I sent her a text back, asking if she was still at her house.

When I found something to wear, I stripped out of my sleeping clothes and put the other clothes on before looking myself over in the mirror then grabbing my phone and walking to the bathroom.

After brushing my teeth and hair, another text came through and I stopped before opening it.

At my house. I just noticed it this morning

I stared at the text for a moment before letting my fingers roam over the keyboard and slowly typing out a text before sending it.

I asked her if I could come pick her up.

Not sure why but I just thought that's what I should say and do.

It felt weird.

I wasn't use to it.

When she texted back, I opened it.

You sure? I don't want to ask you to do that.

I texted back, saying I was getting ready now and I'll be there soon.

Now that I knew where she lived, I can find my way there.

After I was done getting ready, I slid my shoes on and walked downstairs then saw Haley in the kitchen as I passed by.

"I'm leaving."

"Alright, have a great day!"

When I walked outside, the sun was already beating down on me and it was extremely hot. I wasn't a fan of summer and this weather was stupid.
