CHAPTER 13 : Compromise and Improvise

SIDNEYS POV STILL
I was sat at the kitchen table drinking the coffee dad made and then I hear him curse "Oh Jesus" so I turn Oh my god" I say shocked and just realise it's El "Ghost" She says "Yeah I can see that" he says "A good one too" I say "Halloween" she says "sure is but right now it's breakfast let's eat" he says so I sit across from Him and El joins the table "wouldn't see me" she says "who wouldn't see you ?" He asks "bad men" and I choke a bit on my coffee and look at dad "What are you talking about ?" He asks "trick or treat" El said "you wanna go trick or treating ?" Hoper asks "you know the rules" he says "Yes but-" she starts but he finishes "yes see you know them" he says "but they wouldn't see me" she says desperate to go trick or treating "I don't care okay" he says but she keeps pleading "no I don't care" he says "I could take her" I say "No not both of you out there and don't give her more point to keep begging" he says "come on she's never been trick or treating" I says "no go out there in costume or not it's a risk and we don't take risks there stupid and" he says "we're not stupid" el says getting angry "Exactly now you take that off sit down and eat" he says and she throws the sheet off "alright look how about Tonight get off early and get some candy and we can sit around and get fat while we watch a scary movie together how's that for compromise ?" He asks "compromise ?" El says confused "c.o.m.promise compromise that's your word for the day how about that ?" He says and I nod as he looks at me to teach her "it's like in the middle like halfway happy halfway sad" I say "by 515 ?" She asks "five fifteen yeah sure" dad said "promise ?" She says "yes I promise" he says "halfway happy" she says and I smile at her as she picks up the syrup

"I gotta go now" hopper says and I say bye to him "dad" I say and get his attention "please remember this it's her first Halloween we can't mess it up" I say "do you trust me Sidney ?" He says "you want me to answer truthfully ?" I ask jokingly "yes of course I do" I say and he nods "okay then trust me on this" he says "okay but if you don't come home like you said I'm gonna be so angry and you will never get my trust again clear ?" I say and he nods "Don't eat the candy on the way home" I say and he laughs and walks out "okay so compromise it's halfway in between" I say "halfway between" she says and then nods "Come on" I laugh as we both jump onto the sofa and put on the T.V . A while late I look at the clock and get up to make dinner "What do you want for dinner ?" I ask looking in the fridge "eggos" she said "you had those for breakfast" I say "I have an idea I say and I make some pasta and quickly give el some and I decide to give dad a treat too because he's been working so much too and he's done a lot so that's dinner off the schedule for him .

I began to make the burgers I got the cheese and cut them sharp like teeth and made them into cute little monsters and then cookies and decorate them Halloween related thing like bats , pumpkins , ghosts , spiders . I then looked on the sofa and saw El interested in the movie and it was a kiss scene I felt so bad because I knew how much she missed Mike .
