a/n: no smut

we get to the food courts and i start looking around and eventually see my parents. i look at eddie and he looks at me. he nods and we walk over to them.

(m: mom, d: dad, e: eddie, y: you)

"m: There's our beautiful daughter"

she says putting her arms out. i let go of eddie's hand and hug her, quickly pulling away. i look at my father and he gives me a weak smile. i give him an even quicker hug and then stand close to eddie again. my parents look at him and then back at me

"y: Oh this is my boyfriend Eddie"

my mom puts out her hand

"m: Pleasure to meet you. I'm Mary"

eddie shakes her hand and puts his hand out to my dad. he looks at it and my mom nudges him. he puts his hand out and takes eddie's, shaking it quickly before letting go

"d: Tom."

eddie nods and smiles. my mom looks at eddie and looks at me

"m: You found a good one dear"

"y: I know i did"

there was a moment of silence.

"y: So why out of all places did you decide to come to Hawkins?"

eddie looks down at me. my mom seems surprised

"m: Maybe because we wanted to see our daughter who decided to up and leave for no reason"

i let out a laugh and push my tongue against my cheek.

"y: For no reason? You guys drove me away and you know it"

"d: Don't talk to your mother like that"

i look at him

"y: You don't get to say that to me anymore. I'm an adult. And i also noticed no birthday message yesterday"

my moms face drops

"m: Oh sweetie happy birthday"

i scoff and look at eddie

"y: I'd like to leave now."

i look back at my parents

"y: Nice seeing you but we have some cleaning to do at our house."

i turn to walk away, letting go of eddie's hand out of anger.

"e: It was nice meeting you guys"

eddie says to my parents before waving goodbye and walking after me quickly. he catches up and stays behind me, knowing i'm mad at the moment. we get to the parking lot and when we get to the car i punch the side of it forcefully. i grab my hand and squeeze it

"Fuck!"

i yell out. eddie walks to my side and grabs my hand.

"Y/n! Calm down please. Please"

i squeeze my knuckles again and then let them go, shaking my hand.

"Okay. Let's just go home please"

"Of course"

we get into the car and i just look down at my hand. eddie starts driving, not talking. i didnt dent his car thankfully. i feel tears forming in my eyes

"I'm sorry."

i say to him, my voice breaking as the tears start falling. he looks over at me concerned and confused before putting his hand on my thigh

"Baby what are you sorry for?"

"For my parents being assholes. And for punching your van. I just, i was so angry and i'm sorry."

he rubs my thigh gently

"There's nothing to be sorry for princess. The parent thing isn't your fault and my van will be fine i promise"

i wipe my face and try to stop crying. i put my hand on eddie's thigh for the rest of the way home. when we get home we just lay in bed while he holds me. i feel terrible for how it went with my parents. seeing them today made me realize i can't have them in my life. i don't want them in my life. i look up at eddie

"I think i might block my parents.. After seeing them i realized i don't want them to be apart of my life anymore"

he gives a soft, genuine smile.

"That's okay princess. It's your life and you get to do what you want"

he kisses my forehead

"I'm here to support all your decisions"

i smile and lean up, giving him a soft kiss. he kisses me back and rubs my back gently. after we pull away i pick up my phone and block them on everything. messages, facebook, messenger. they're gone. i feel a weight get lifted off my shoulders as i set my phone back down. i snuggle into eddie more and close my eyes. this will forever be my safe spot. i need him forever.
