Chapter 2 - Sunlight Duel

[Upon venturing the Hidden Forest, today's rain was absolute downpour. Lyrinn's umbrella could barely hold the rain falling. She hurries to meet her friend but the immense rain lowers the sense of surrounding making her lose her path. Eventually, Lyrinn manages to find the sunny but quiet forest. From on top of a platform connected to a few trees, a Forestro Skylier awaits Lyrinn.]

Lyrinn! I thought you wouldn't make it!

Lyrinn
Oh Reyn!

[Reyn, Lyrinn's best friend, jumps from the tree onto the ground using his cape to slow his fall. He had a smile that was the light in the sunny forest. Lyrinn was rather worried as she arrived late for their hangout but Reyn showed no inch of concern other than seeing her soaked. Regardless, he was glad Lyrinn made it.]

Reyn
A little late for our hangout but it'll do. You even came here soaked, my goodness...

Lyrinn
I was 30 minutes late...

Reyn
Yeah but that'll do, it's a downpour today. It would've been understandable if you couldn't make it. Get in and dry up.

[The two go climb into their small treehouse. It was a warm place mainly filled with cozy blankets and their favourite plushies but still had some basic necessities. Reyn immediately throws a towel and starts to dry her up. He smirks at Lyrinn, which is rather rare for others to see, yet he seems to give his smile a lot to his best friend.]

Reyn
I can't believe you went all the way here in the rain... I was so sure you wouldn't come. It's a literal downpour in the main path!

Lyrinn
Reyn... You should've known I would've came one way or another.

Reyn
Still, you would never come to hangout whenever there was a downpour. How come you came this time?

[Lyrinn smiles and starts to cuddle Reyn.]

Lyrinn
Maybe I just wanted to see you.

[In response, Reyn affectionately kisses Lyrinn's forehead. Despite being best friends, their dynamic was peculiarly decadent, mainly having traits of best friends while having some traits of a couple due to the long, decade plus years of friendship and love.]

Reyn
I can't blame you...

[They cuddle for long minutes as they catch up from their last hangout despite hanging out almost everyday.

For Lyrinn, she had been doing lots of melee training with her adoptive brother Syronos. While quick with fighting with a large variety of weaponry and hand-to-hand combat over the years, her preferences were often spears, staffs, or long sticks. Syronos had often felt that Lyrinn was similar to her long missing brother, quick to gain and control over agility and strength. 

With his training duels with Lyrinn over the years, Reyn was able to build up his own strength and agility. In some of his spare time, he usually self trains given that he doesn't have a proper qualified mentor in his realm. For his preference of fighting, he shares his preference of spears and long sticks with Lyrinn while having his separate preferences of using katanas and archery.

After the long warm minutes of cuddling, Lyrinn feels like having yet another training duel.]

Sure, let's see how much you improved this time.

[They both climb down from the treehouse and head to a nearby stand containing two light yet sturdy long sticks. Each get one for themselves and they head to a long and large mossy stone bridge that was once powered by magic long ago before it was abandoned and later used as their personal dueling area. It was the usual rules: the first who knocks their partner's weapon off wins.
