Chapter 4 - Worry

[As morning rises, all guards are instructed to meet with the Dayliri Leader Akirianis. In the meanwhile, Thalasso guards the main town as ordered by Akirianis. As he wanders around the town, he encounters Syronos.]

Syronos
Thalasso! What brings you here?

Thalasso
Just guarding the town. Akirianis ordered me to.

Syronos
Makes sense, Aki told me that he'd be meeting with the guards.

Thalasso
How's Lyrinn?

Syronos
She's doing good.

Thalasso
I see, good to hear.

Syronos
You seemed worried, is something wrong?

[Thalasso summarizes the frequent raid situation in the Vault of Knowledge realm. Syronos gradually grows worried as Thalasso explains further. Many eavesdropping residents grow worried and fearful as well.]

Syronos
This is definitely concerning, has this been brought up to the rest of the leaders?

Thalasso
As far as I know, only Calibe and Akirianis are aware of it.

Syronos
The Skylier leaders do need a meeting soon.

[As Syronos and Thalasso continue talking, Lyrinn is training in the butterfly fields alone. However, eventually, she senses something off and stops her training.]

Lyrinn
... Something doesn't seem right.

[She starts to get a weird shaky feeling from her hands, dropping her training weapon. From the corner of her eye, she sees a crying sky kid with growing black patches, slowly walking awkwardly towards her. Lyrinn seems afraid but has a determination to help them.]

Lyrinn
A-are you okay? Wait let me help you!

???
Run... please Lyrinn..

[Lyrinn runs to the sky kid but then they start to attack her as if they were being controlled by an unknown force. She's doing her best to only subdue the sky kid without harming them.]

???
Ah- I can't hold it! Run! Warn the others!

Unknown Female Voice
My child, let me help you.

[A woman's voice is heard from above. Suddenly, Lyrinn's hands glow bright. An unknown ethereal woman appears beside Lyrinn and directs her hand at the corrupted child. Lyrinn becomes shocked and has no idea on what to do but the ethereal woman's presence eventually calms her.]

Lyrinn
H-Huh!?

Unknown Woman
Its okay, my child. Focus on her.

[While the woman holds Lyrinn's position, the latter focuses on the child. The unknown woman places her hand on Lyrinn's, focusing her power through the one she calls her child. The sky kid screams in a distorted voice until all the black patches go away. Tired, Lyrinn falls to the ground exhausted and confused as to what she did.

When all the corruption was gone from the sky kid, so was the unknown woman. It was unknown if they would ever meet again.]

Lyrinn
How... did I do that?

???
I could ask you the same...

Lyrinn
I don't know... I might've been hallucinating but there was a woman beside me who was trying to help me.

???
The woman beside you?

Lyrinn
You saw her too?

???
Maybe she had something to do with that.

Lyrinn
I don't know how I'll be able to use it again. I need to figure that out...

[Lyrinn realises that she had been rambling about the woman and remembers about the child being corrupted.]

Lyrinn
What's your name?

???
Aylin...

Lyrinn
Where are you from?

Aylin
I'm from the eastern prairie village... There's a raid going on there and a lot of us had either died or became corrupted.

[The information worries Lyrinn. She knew that if the raid kept going unnoticed, more lives would be put on the line. While she had no experience fighting in real danger, Lyrinn decides to try and hold off the raid until the guards come to assist her.]

Lyrinn
Aylin, I need you to go get the guards as soon as you can. After that, you tell Thalasso that everyone needs to evacuate the prairie. I'll hold off the raid as much as I can, but be as quick as you can.

Aylin
Understood.

Lyrinn
Now hurry, we have no time!

Aylin
Yes Lyrinn!

[As Aylin flies to the main town, Lyrinn heads to the eastern village to try to hold off the raid alone.]
