Chapter 5 - Goodbye

[Upon entering the village, she witnesses many dead villagers, glowing red crystals and ruined houses. It was unbelievable horror. Looking straight, she sees a dozen of corrupted sky kids attacking the residents and tries to protect the remaining residents. Not being experienced in fighting in real danger, Lyrinn tries to be highly cautious. The enemies proved to be strong, but not enough to stand against the girl's immense strength. Waves of enemies come and go like dominoes, but Lyrinn fears about how much longer she can hold out. When the waves were gone and only a few enemies left, she hears a man's voice.]

???
Impressive for a one person such as you.

[A tall man in an anubis mask is behind her, smiling. Immediately, she backs away, not wanting to go near him. For some reason, Lyrinn found the smile sad as if this man was corrupted against his own will just as Aylin was. She questions if she's really hallucinating.]

Lyrinn
What's going on? Am I okay? I must be going crazy right?

[Too many questions. Why did the woman help Lyrinn? How did she manage to liberate Aylin? Who was the woman? Who was this man? Nothing was answered.

What has corruption done to this man? Lyrinn wants to free him but the unanswered questions leave her not knowing what to do. Would the woman come back to help her once more? She did not want to rely on the woman in case Lyrinn had to do this on her own. But she couldn't think straight with the destruction around her.]

A clanless Skylier. You seem special. Why don't you join us? We could rule the world together!

[It seems the corruption was interested in taking Lyrinn in, but she had no intent of fighting with the evil.]

Lyrinn
After your army destroyed this village and caused causaltes? No, thank you. First, you take over the body of the man you're controlling. Next you corrupt almost a whole village of sky kids and then a raid. Let the man go, what did he ever do to you?

He had slain my past vessel, and now his body is now mine.

[Despite her fear, she stands firm and brave.]

Lyrinn
Let. Him. Go.

Oh maybe I will... in exchange for your body!

[The two start to clash relentlessly. It wasn't a training duel between friends, but a deadly duel between opposing forces. Lyrinn continuously tries to convince corruption to let go of the host but there was no answer. As they fight, enemy reinforcements come and circle around the two fighters and cheer. Lyrinn starts to pick up the pace of her fighting trying her best to subdue her opponents but to no avail. She starts to feel like she would not be able to survive but continues to strive despite her injuries and growing fatigue. Injuries start to become worse as they fight to what seems to be to the death. The corrupted soldiers cheer on their leader. Soon, Lyrinn was exhausted.]

Stay still! Your body shall be mine!

Unknown Man's Voice
Over my dead body!

[A weapon is thrown at Lyrinn at a high speed but as it attempts to strike her, an invisible barrier, unknown to both Lyrinn and the dark army, blocks the strike and the weapon falls onto the ground. A recognizable voice of a man calls out to the army.]

Akirianis
So you dare attack my dear sister, leader of corruption?

Lyrinn
Akirianis...?

[Akirianis and the Daylight Prairie guards arrive at the ruined village. The Dayliri leader stands firm and brave as Lyrinn and orders the guards and soldiers to defend fight against the army of corruption. As Lyrinn wants to continue fighting, Akirianis swoops her from the ground and carries her far from the warzone. He immediately puts her down, readying himself to defend her with his life.]
