Chapter 22 - A Blessed Warrior of Light

{Vault of Knowledge, Secret Warrior Base}

[Reyn was training against the dummies along with some other members. It was a normal day though Reyn could not help worry about Lyrinn. With Thalasso now gone, he wonders if Lyrinn is faring well on her own. As much as he wanted to come to her side and protect her, he knew he could not do so as he was a part of a secret warrior organization. His worry was interrupted by a hooded person, who taps on his shoulder.]

Reyn
May I help you?

Hooded Person
May I offer you to a training duel with me?

[Reyn was oddly confused about the sudden offer but he figures it would not be anything too bad. He figures it could help him in his training.]

Reyn
Sure.

Hooded Person
Follow me and bring your training weapon.

[As he follows, Reyn was unsure if he could trust this hooded person. For sure he was a member of the Warriors of Light. For an odd reason Reyn felt a sense of a familiar trust. The sound of the person's voice was oddly familiar. He tried to ignore it thinking maybe it was just his mind playing tricks on him. The two go into a room alone.]

Hooded Person
Show me what you know.

Reyn
Alright.

[Reyn and the Hooded Person start to duel. To his surprise, the Hooded person was slightly stronger than Lyrinn. He trying to keep up with the attacks was a rollercoaster. Even if he managed to rise to his peak, he would always fall but then rise again and continue the pattern. Eventually they stopped dueling. Reyn was extremely exhausted from dueling.]

Hooded Person
You alright?

Reyn
Yeah... I'll be okay.

Hooded Person
You're impressive. I guess you learned a lot from Lyrinn.

Reyn
You... You know Lyrinn?

Hooded Person
I shouldn't be keeping my identity from you any longer.

[The Hooded Person unhooded their head. The messy bowlcut with bangs similar to Lyrinn's and the glowing golden yellow eyes with star pupils of a blessed Dayliri male. Reyn was shocked to see he was even alive.]

Reyn
Syronos!?

Syronos
Mhm...

Reyn
But... how? Lyrinn told me you were dead.

Syronos
I ended up like you did Reyn, on the brink of death but Galloris saved my life and took me here. I've been here longer than you have. I'm quite shocked as well to even know that I was salvaged. Well... if it weren't for Galloris, I would've really been dead. You wouldn't have this duel with me as well.

[Reyn was frozen in shock now knowing Syronos was alive after a few months. He was not sure on what to say. Syronos looked at Reyn with a soft smile. He walks over and offers his hand to Reyn. Reyn takes Syronos' hand and stands up.]

Syronos
Reyn, I know you are capable of being a great warrior like my sister Lyrinn. You are well aware that I trained Lyrinn to fight and you have learned so much from Lyrinn. Your strength just now was impressive. You should be proud of yourself for being able to last that long.

[Reyn nods.]

Syronos
As of now, as a general, I have to take on serious missions on saving other people. However, it won't stop me from teaching others to fight. Reyn, I would like to be your mentor in training you. Of course, you are free to decline or think about it. 

Reyn
This is a lot for me honestly... I think I need time to think about it Syronos.

Syronos
Take all the time you need.

[All of a sudden, Galloris comes in the room with a worried look on his face. Syronos and Reyn quickly look at Galloris. Noticing the worry on Galloris' face, Syronos asks.]

Syronos
Is everything okay Galloris?

Galloris
Syronos, Reyn... I need your help.

Reyn
A new mission?

Galloris
There's an unknown mud entity lurking among the Golden Wasteland capturing innocent creatures and people. It's located around the perimeter of Boneyard City. We have to find it and kill it as soon as we can.

Syronos
Whose gonna look after the others?

Galloris
I've already asked Lloyden to look after the soldiers here.

Reyn
Well... I hope we can find it as soon as we can.
