Chapter 31 - The Final Sacrifice

{Eye of Eden, Area of Sacrifice}

[A dark red storm rages and the muddy currents ripple. In distance, Lyrinn stands in front of Pythoris. She slowly walks towards him. Pythoris smiles with menace.]

Corrupted Pythoris
I'm impressed, you came here alone just to fight me.

Lyrinn
You sacrificed yourself just to protect me... brother.

Corrupted Pythoris
Who are you calling "brother"?

[Pythoris looks at Lyrinn's eyes, revealing the blood relation between them. He smiles surprised and happily as corruption has found the sister of Pythoris.]

Corrupted Pythoris
The whole time! That clanless skylier is your sister! Oh I can't believe your sister will try to defeat me! I can't wait to see her fail!

[Lyrinn was silent for a moment. Her expression expressed her unwillingness to fight yet she knew she had to. Using her blessed powers, Lyrinn materialized a formidable spear as her weapon. She dashed towards Pythoris to attack initiating the battle between them. The storm rages along with their strength. Power and skill were powerful and balanced. Strong hits and fast dodges struck time. Injuries appear as time goes on. The brother and sister fought hard and smart.

The storm starts to calm, and so has the battle. Pythoris desperately tries to keep fighting but Lyrinn manages to barely outplay him and Pythoris was defeated. Corruption fell weak gasping and the ripples start to calm. Lyrinn stood with a sad expression.]

Corrupted Pythoris
*heavy breath* How..? Why with all that strength..?

Lyrinn
I had this planned from the beginning... I have an oath, and I want to fulfill it.

Corrupted Pythoris
Well... you did well to fulfill it...

Lyrinn
Thank you...

Corrupted Pythoris
Well? Go on... finish the job. Kill me.

[But Lyrinn stood and cautiously walked over to Pythoris. The spear disappears and she reaches her hand to him.]

Corrupted Pythoris

[Pythoris takes Lyrinn's hand and Lyrinn pulls him in an embrace. Tears flow from her eyes and a smile came on her face.]

Lyrinn
Thank you brother...

[With a tight warm embrace, the two hug for a long time. Lyrinn then said her last and final word.]

Lyrinn
Liberate.

[A bright white engulfs the area. Corruption is slowly pulled out from Pythoris and Lyrinn slowly cracks. Her smile remained.

Waking up in the middle of the calmed storm, the liberated Pythoris looks at his hands. Corruption no longer used his body as a puppet.]

Pythoris
... what happened?

[He looks around, trying to find Lyrinn. Pythoris wondered if she was okay]

Pythoris
Lyrinn?

[Memories of his young sister flash through his vision. Lyrinn laughed happily with a sugar sweet smile. Pythoris continues to hopelessly search for his sister, the storm starts to slowly rage again. Eventually, he found a body, with crystals growing. Lyrinn laid limp, Lyrinn laid with no response, and Lyrinn never opened her eyes. She died with a smile.]

Pythoris
Lyrinn! Wake up! Please!

[Pythoris desperately tries to call out to his sister and carries her in his arms. The light behind him glows and the storm becomes more harsh. He carries his dead sister towards the light. Something eerie The mud becomes thicker, becoming harder to walk through. Eventually, Pythoris fell to his knees and hugs Lyrinn close to him. The siblings slowly become nothing but statues. Four reanimated statues slowly walk towards the siblings and embrace them, as if they were family.]

Pythoris... I missed you bro. Lyrinn... good to see you again.

Statue 4
It's over... you two did it.

[Eventually, they became stationary, never to move again.]
