Chapter 11 - Mysterious Meeting

[Morning rises as Lyrinn and Thalasso wake up and get ready to travel. Lyrinn goes outside and meets up with Reyn to talk.]

Lyrinn
So... I'm leaving with Thalasso.

Reyn
You're his traveling partner now?

Lyrinn
Yup...

Reyn
Why so you sound sad?

Lyrinn
I realized I'll be more busy... I guess I can't train with you as much as we used to... I don't know if you'll be okay by yourself also...

[Reyn tries to cheer Lyrinn up while remaining honest.]

Reyn
Hey, things will get better. It will take some time but... I know it will come. Honestly I'm worried about you too but you're a strong fighter. I have faith that we'll meet again in the future.

Lyrinn
Yeah...

Reyn
You know, life was hell knowing my siblings are dead. When you came, it got better. So, I'm sure whatever happens, it'll get better.

I might actually join the Forest guards, I feel like they might need more soldiers.

Lyrinn
Yeah... true.

Reyn

Lyrinn
Yeah... hopefully.

Thalasso
Lyrinn, let's go.

[Thalasso and Lyrinn bid farewell to Reyn and started their travel path, officially making Lyrinn a traveling warrior.]

Thalasso
We'll make our way to the Village of Dreams and rest there. Our final destination should be the Wasteland city.

Lyrinn
Got it.

[It was hours of walking and flyimg until they reach the Village of Dreams. It was snowing and lots of people wander the seemingly big village. One thing that caught Lyrinn's attention was a fully cloaked person seemingly looking at her. Lyrinn nods at the person in a silent greeting. The duo arrived at an lodge to stay at for the night.

When midnight striked, Thalasso is already asleep. Lyrinn was about to sleep when she noticed the man looking at her window. The moment she noticed the man gestures his hands to come out and speak. Lyrinn heads out of the room and out of the lodge to meet the cloaked person. His eyes were a glowy mismatched red and yellow yet his pupils were black as night. Despite how suspicious he looked, Lyrinn could see that the man had no ill intent.]

Cloaked Person
Lyrinn... there you are.

Lyrinn
What did you want?

Cloaked Person
Listen, I don't have much time but I need to warn you about something. I cannot risk this happening to you.

Lyrinn
Alright...

Cloaked Person
You know about the corruption right? The raids?

Lyrinn
Yeah...

Cloaked Person
If you kill the leader of the corruption, you'll be cursed and eventually turned into the leader of corruption. That's what happened to Ederi Leader Alice and Allister... as well as myself.

Lyrinn
Wait... so you're the current leader of corruption...

Cloak Person
Unfortuntely, yes. The corruption in me is currently sleeping, it won't be long until he wakes up and takes over me again. If someone else kills me they will be inevitably become the next leader or corruption as well in a few years. I don't want that to happen to you. There is a certain magic that can lift the corruption but you'll need to find that on your own. I believe your missing brother may have told you before his disappearance.

My missing brother?

Cloaked Person
I'm sure he knew something... If you can remember what it was, I'm sure it'll help you a lot. Although to be honest, I wouldn't want you to use that... it's... well...

Lyrinn
But... I want to help you.

Cloaked Person
Lyrinn... I wouldn't want you to be in danger. I almost killed you in Daylight Prairie. Why were you even there in the first place?

Lyrinn
The raid... Aylin told me about it.

Cloak Person
*Sigh*... Of course someone would tell you. Still, don't go into danger like that!

Lyrinn
But... I can fight-

Cloaked Person
I know! I just... don't want you to get killed. I care too much to see your demise...

[The person seemed overly worried about Lyrinn and it's unknown why. To Lyrinn, it almost felt as if the people she was closest with wanted to protect her like a child but the cloaked person in particular seemed to have known Lyrinn for a long time and she couldn't remember how.

All of a sudden, she looked more closely at the person's glowing eyes as if there was something familiar about him.]

Lyrinn
(Wait... his eyes, could it be?)

[With no more time to waste, the cloaked person knew he needed to head off but Lyrinn's words seem to hold him.]

Cloaked Person
I need to go... please... be careful Lyrinn...

Lyrinn
You as well... Ederi leader Pythoris.

[The cloaked person looks surprised at hearing that name then smiles and takes off his hood, revealing a rather handsome face and a spikey mohawk with a braided tail. Parts of his face was cracked. This was the familiar face of the missing Ederi leader that went missing around the time Lyrinn's brother went missing.]

Pythoris
So you know my name. I'm not surprised.

Lyrinn
Of course! A lot of people know you as the Skylier hybrid Leader.

Pythoris
Well I guess you can tell from my eyes....

[The two share a warm hug and Pythoris departs. Lyrinn felt a familiar aura from him as if she's met him long before they met at Daylight Prairie. It was as if something felt off about Pythoris. The way he treated Lyrinn was almost protective and caring. The one last thing that stood out was his earring, which was completely identical to hers...

Lyrinn heads back to her lodge and finds Thalasso in her bedroom. Worry rushes along her.]

Lyrinn
S-Sir!

Thalasso
Oh you're back! I was worried....

[Thalasso laughs worriedly, but he's relieved that Lyrinn made it back in one piece.]

Lyrinn
Sorry, I was talking with someone...

Thalasso
Oh, Aliso?

Lyrinn
No it was someone else. Not Aliso.

Thalasso
You want to talk about it?

Lyrinn
A little bit...

Thalasso
Let's talk about it tomorrow, okay? I'm sure you need some rest.

Lyrinn
Sure... sorry for worrying you.

Thalasso
What matters is that you're safe. There's nothing to apologize about. Maybe I was a bit too worried but, you're safe. Besides, you were only talking to some stranger in this village so I don't think there's any harm in that as long as they didn't have any bad intentions.
