Sky: War in the Skies (A Sky: Children of the Light AU)

Chapter 6 - At War

[Aoilis, the Forestro Clan leader and guardian of the Hidden Forest, leads the survivors to a nearby camp where they can reside until they can build more shelters for the Daylight Prairie residents. Many survivors are grieving due to the loss of family and their home.

Aoilis was more worried about Akirianis, his close friend and fellow partner. He tries to keep a good composure and tries to help the citizens.

Noticing the commotion, Reyn runs to Aoilis wondering why there were a lot of people in the campsite.]

Reyn
Leader Aoilis? What's with all the people at this camp?

Aoilis
Daylight Prairie has been attacked my dear...

Reyn
What?!

Aoilis
Thalasso and Syronos lead these survivors here in this forest. It's the best we can do for them for now.

[Reyn worries gravely for his best friend Lyrinn. His immediate question was if she was alive. A face of heavy worry filled with heavy breathing was not left unnoticed by Aoilis.]

Aoilis
My dear? Are you alright-

[Before Aoilis can finish his question, Reyn runs in the campsite calling for Lyrinn. Tears fell from the boy's face, scared of the thought that she might be dead.]

Reyn
Rinn!

[The injured Lyrinn resting by a tree notices Reyn right away and limps to him, hoping he'd notice and make him worry less. Reyn notices and hurriedly catches Lyrinn and he carries her to an empty tent. They warmly hug, though Reyn tries to be gentle knowing Lyrinn was terribly injured and shaking in grief. The girl struggles to talk due to trauma the raid had on her.]

Reyn
Rinn, what happened? You're so badly injured! Where's-

Lyrinn
T-There was a corruption raid... Akirianis and the guards... they tried to fight... Syronos tried to fight... I tried to fight... but...

[Lyrinn cries uncontrollably.]

Reyn
Rinn... 

Lyrinn
I don't know what to do... I lost both of my brothers... I...

Reyn
Whatever happens, I'm here for you, Thalasso is here for you, you have us... alright?

[Lyrinn nods. She was sobbing so much yet all Reyn could do was hold her warmly, trying to comfort her to the best of his ability. Many forest residents try their best to help the prairie residents with whatever they needed. Today was a devastating day...

Meanwhile, Thalasso finds Aoilis and the two start to have a concerning talk.]

Aoilis
Sir Thalasso... I can't believe this would happen. If I had known beforehand I would've sent our guards to assist Daylight Prairie.

Thalasso
It was all of a sudden... we wouldn't have enough time to send our other guard forces.

Aoilis
I've heard that many attacks have been happening in the Vault of Knowledge, is that true?

Thalasso
Unfortunately, yes. That's why my stay at the Vault of Knowledge was way longer than expected. I chose to help defend those people from those raids until Leader Calibe had chosen to higher the guard level of the Vault of Knowledge.

Aoilis
First Vault of Knowledge... and now Daylight Prairie... I suppose a meeting with the leaders is in order as well as a higher security in this realm.

[Aoilis' message bird arrives back telling the news that Akirianis is dead. Aoilis is saddened by Akirianis' death but tries his best to keep his formal composure. He asks the bird to relay a request to the leaders for a meeting by tomorrow and the bird flies away into the skies.]

Aoilis
... Thalasso.

Thalasso
Hmm?

Aoilis
After all these years, we might be at war with corruption yet again.

Thalasso
I agree...

Aoilis
I should higher the security here just in case we end up getting attacked. I'll pour out all of this realm's guards if I have to...

Thalasso
I believe that's a good idea.

Aoilis
We are officially at war again...
