Chapter 25 - Rest

{Few Days Later}

[In a pitch black world that Lyrinn sees, a man's voice echoes. His voice becomes louder as time goes by.]

Unknown Man
....

My daughter...

My daughter.

[When the voice was loud enough to be easily comprehended, a pale glowing figure of a sky kid appears in her vision. The enviroment soon becomes a dark night blue, fields of glowing blue gerberas grow. Lyrinn wonders who the man is and where she is.]

Unknown Sky Kid
Hello my sweet daughter.

Lyrinn
Is this the afterlife...?

Unknown Sky Kid
No... But I came to speak to you.

Lyrinn
Am I not dead?

Unknown Sky Kid
No... you're not dead.

Lyrinn
Wait so... where are we?

Unknown Sky Kid
We are in the realm of rest.

Lyrinn
Who are you? Why are you here?

[The man smiles. Lyrinn find his smile awfully familiar but she has trouble recalling who he was. She starts to remember the same man in her faint memories. However Lyrinn does not seem to know. She finds it strange to see the man referring her as his daughter.]

Unknown Sky Kid
I used to live in the Sky Kingdom, just like you and your brother. I was the second kingdom leader before I passed away and ascended into the afterlife as a Orbital Lifeform.

[The name clicks on Lyrinn's mind when the man explains he was the second Kingdom leader. She suddenly remembers images of him from history books.]

Lyrinn
You must be Leader Tanralios...

Tanralios
Yes my child.

[Tanralios slowly walks to Lyrinn and cups her left cheek with his right hand.]

Tanralios
I'm not just the kingdom leader who passed away.

Lyrinn
What do you mean?

Tanralios
Do you remember the woman who helped you repel the corruption from the young girl?

[Lyrinn recalls the pale glowing woman in her memories. Flashes of that woman appear on Lyrinn's vision.]

Lyrinn
Who was that woman?

Tanralios
That woman was Lyricalus, the first blessed one and your mother.

Lyrinn
I have... a mother?

[Lyrinn was in a state of shock. The woman who appeared to assist her was her own mother. Lyrinn looks at her trembling hands. For all her life, she had only known that she had a star brother or so she thought. Tanralios puts both of his hands on Lyrinn's shoulders as Lyrinn looks up at him.]

Lyrinn
How do you know she was my mother?

[Tanralios does not speak for a bit. He did not seem sure if Lyrinn would believe him but he did not want to hide the truth from her.]

Lyrinn
... sir?

Tanralios
I'm your father. You and your brother are mine and Lyricalus' birthed children. Leader Dynasti and Dayliri Leader Shinesty are also your adoptive older siblings.

[Lyrinn's shock grows bigger. She had never knew that she and her brother had parents and older siblings. She starts to question if she was truly born as a sky civilian. Tanralios continues to explain but his voice starts to become sad. Despite her shock, Lyrinn continues to listen.]

Tanralios
By the time you and your brother were born, your mother and I are already became Orbital Lifeforms. Orbital lifeforms are created either from nothingness or by parents or a Sky Civilian has been chosen to ascend. Which means you two are purely both Orbital lifeforms.

[Tanralios grows more sad.]

Tanralios
My daughter... I know your mother and I were never there for you. We would've let you and your brother stay with us in Orbit but... we wanted you to live a life where you two could be truly happy. We both knew Orbit wouldn't bring that much opportunities to you two... so we decided to send you two in the Sky kingdom. We've watched over you ever since.

Lyrinn
I... see...

[Lyrinn then starts to wonder about her brother. She wanted to know what had happened to him and why he left her.]

Lyrinn
Do you know what happened to my brother?

[Tanralios pauses for a second.]

Tanralios
Your brother left you to protect you from corruption. He could not bear seeing you becoming corrupted like he did and he would do anything to protect his younger sister. But now, he seems to now be corrupted and he fights it so you could be protected.

Lyrinn
... was I too late?

Tanralios
It's not too late. If you can repel the corruption from him, you might be able to save him.

[From behind Lyrinn, a bright light glows. It gradually grows bigger as minutes pass by. The wind blows towards Lyrinn's direction. Lyrinn needed to leave the realm of rest and return to her conciousness. Tanralios loosens his grip on his daughter's shoulders and lets go. Tears of sadness and regret start to slowly fall from his eyes.]

Tanralios
You should go.

Lyrinn
Yeah...

Tanralios
My daughter...

Lyrinn
Hmm?

Tanralios
I'm sorry I wasn't here for you two. I don't expect you to forgive me... nor your mother.

[Lyrinn smiles and tears falling from her face. She hugs her father trying to comfort him before going.]

Lyrinn
You wanted the best for us... father.

[Tanralios hugs Lyrinn back. Hearing Lyrinn refer him as her father made his tears run faster. The light creeps closer to the father and daughter.]

Lyrinn
I'll make you proud.

Tanralios
I was always proud of you my child. Your mother and I are both always proud of both you and your brother. Never forget that. And make yourself proud also.

[The light engulfs the two until all Lyrinn could see was a bright white. Tanralios' voice fades until Lyrinn could not hear her father anymore. Lyrinn could no longer feel the blue gerberas.]

{Vault of Knowledge}

[Lyrinn wakes up upon a bed in an unknown dimly lit room. She slowly pushes herself upright and feels the wound on her torso. All of a sudden, she hears a familiar voice.]

???
Careful Lyrinn, you're still recovering. Don't move so much.

[Lyrinn is startled by the person's voice. She looks to her right and sees Reyn sitting beside her. Reyn slowly gets up from his chair and gently embraces Lyrinn, who hugs him back.]

Lyrinn
How are you feeling?

Reyn
Never been better now that I see you awake. Haha. Honestly I didn't want to leave your side the moment I found out you were brought here. 

Lyrinn
Where are we? Am I in a hospital?

Reyn
No... you're at a secret warrior base right now.

Lyrinn
Wait... so Fujito isn't here?

Reyn
No... but I assured him you'll be alright.

Lyrinn
... okay.

Reyn
I'll be right back I need to-

[All of a sudden, the door opens.]
