Y/n stood beside Alan as she watched the dead body in front of them. She had just kicked out Scott knowing that they had company but not a kind one. They heard the bell ring at the front door and listened the footsteps come closer.

« I'm starting to think I need to buy a more prominent "closed" sign » Alan said as they both turned their head to find Chris Argent standing at the entrance.

« Hello Alan. » They heat someone said hiding behind before revealing themselves. It was Gerard. Even though Y/n had met him multiple times she still was scared of him.
« Y/n » He said giving her a grin. Y/n looked up to him meeting his eyes trying not to show any emotion.
« It's been a while. » Gerard said approaching them but Alan places himself in front of the witch slowly backing up surprised to see him.
« Last I heard you were retired. »

« Last I heard, you followed a code of conduct. » Alan said

« If you hadn't noticed, this body is one of ours. » Chris Argent said finally speaking.

« I did. I also noticed the gunpowder residue on his fingertips. So don't assume I'll be swayed by your philosophy just cause I'll answer a few questions. » Alan argued glaring at them.

« He was only 24 » Chris Argent said.

« And I was only 9... » Y/n said glaring at the hunters in front of them. Alan put his hand on her shoulder squeezing it telling her to stay quiet. Y/n quickly understood nodding at him and stepping away from them.

« Killers come in all ages » Alan said looking back at Gerard.

« All ages, sizes, shapes. It's the last one that concerns us. » Gerard said smirking at them.

« How about you tell us what you found ? » Chris Argent said not wanting to start anything. Alan sighed walking up to the body and turning its head.

« See this cut? » Alan said pointing to a cut behind the neck. « Precise. Almost surgical. But this isn't the wound that killed him. This had a more interesting purpose. » Alan said as Y/n watched them carefully. She was still interested in finding out what happened to him because she had never seen anything like it.

« Related to the spine? » Gerard asked looking up at Alan.

« That's right. Whatever made this cut was laced with a paralytic toxin potent enough to disable all motor functions. » Alan explained before pointing his hand towards the multiple cuts on the body's chest.
« These are the cause of death. Notice the patterns on each side? »

« Five for each finger. » Chris Argent answered.

« Each claw » Gerard corrected looking at him.

« As you can see, it dug in, slashed upward, eviscerating the mugs and slicing through the bone of the rib cage with ease. » Alan explained while doing the motions he was telling. Y/n looked at him in disgust not wanting to imagine all the blood that he must have lost.

« Have you ever seen anything like this before? » Chris Argent asked.

« No » Alan answered.

« Any idea at all what killed him? » He asked again.

« No, but I can tell you it's fast, remarkably strong and has the capacity to render its victim essentially helpless within seconds. » Alan said.

« If you're saying we should be cautious, we get it. » Chris Argent said rolling his eyes at him.

« I'm saying be afraid. Be very afraid. Because in the natural world predators with paralytic toxins use them to catch and eat their prey. This prey wasn't eaten. That means whatever killed him only wanted to kill him. In fact, killing may be it's only purpose. »
