Chapter 7

He slowly pressed his lips against mine. "I miss you girl." I scooted out of his lap and straightened out my clothes.
"Maybe we should go inside?"
"Nah you go ahead. I got some things to take of anyway." He reached into the back seat and grabbed a pair of shades then put them on.
"Ok bye." I turned around and walked to the house with him staring at me the whole time.
"You sure we're in that car a long time." Mama grinned as I closed the door behind me.
"It wasn't even like that."
"I suppose that kiss meant nothing either."
"Nope. It was an innocent little kiss that will never happen again. Plus I'm talking to someone right now." I blushed.
"I happy for but, you know how I feel about men being around my grand baby."
"They have only met once and that was coincidence. I wouldn't dare put my baby in jeopardy just in case it doesn't work out." I was a little insulted by her choice of words.
"Just be careful." She sighed.
"I know. Me and Simone better get going. It's getting dark outside." I walked over to the stairs and called Simone's name.
"How about you leave her with me tonight? I know you're tired." I thought over it and decided that I could get some work done tonight.
"Alright baby you're staying with Nana and Paw Paw. Be good ok?"
"Ok." She pecked my lips then ran back upstairs.
"Bye mama." I gave her a hug then left. I hopped into my truck. I headed to my bedroom and got dressed so, I could make a grand appearance.
I decided on wearing a white body cone cut out dress with red Giuseppe heels. I got into the shower taking care of my hygiene. When I got out I put on some lotion then the clothes I laid out earlier. I added light makeup since I really didn't need it. Finally I grabbed my Dolce and Gabbana red and white clutch with a strap.
Once I was ready I headed out to Ace. I turned on the radio and let beat take over.

When you leave I say "damn, I fucking miss him"." I rapped along to the rest of the song until I got there. The club seemed live as always. There was a long line outside of the building. I put on my shades and ran my hands through my hair.
When I got out the car everybody was screaming and hollering trying to get a picture with me. I didn't mind doing that because, with out them I wouldn't have any of the stuff I have now.
"Hey Mikey." I greeted the bouncer.
"Hey D what's good?" He hugged me. Mike is fine as hell but he was gay. If he was straight and wasn't taken I would go after him.
"Checking on everything, I'm not staying long."
"Well it was nice seeing you. Let my little nigga know I miss her." He said referring to Simone.
"Will do love." I walked in and everybody was having a good time. It was definitely packed due to that celebrities that were in here tonight.
I walked over to the bar where Stasi was making drinks.
"Can I have a screwdriver?"
"Sure just give me one second." She stated without looking at me.
"Here you go... Boss D!" She shrieked. Her ass is so dramatic at times. She came from behind the counter giving me a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"I miss you too boo."
"Oh my God. It has been so boring here without you. You need to come back more." She pouted sticking out her lip.
"I know I've just been super busy. But has anything interesting happened?" I took a sip from my cup and noticed the ring on her finger.
"No everything has been pretty chill."
"I'm talking about the ring on your finger."
"Oh... I'm getting married!" She shrieked.
"Congratulations babe. I'm surprised you didn't tell me."
"I wanted to but, you never came."
"Well we have to do something special."
"I agree." She walked back behind the bar noticing there was a line starting to form.
"So you weren't going to call me back?" A familiar voice asked.
I smiled internally knowing who it was. His thick accent always did something to me.
"I got caught up." I said nonchalantly. I felt his hand brush against my neck pulling my hair from ear.
"Don't make me fuck you right here."
"Is that a threat."
"Take it however you want it." He turned my chair around so I was facing him.
"When are you gonna let a real nigga take care of you."
"When I see one." I took a sip of my drink before he took it out my hands. He chuckled lightly before speaking again.
"You got jokes ma."
"I guess so."
"Nah but for real though we are going to give me a chance. I want you to be mine."
"Look you are cute and all but you play too many games for me. I can't even see you being serious with anyone." I told him honestly.
"What makes you say that?"
"You just have this little boy mentality. The games are cute right now but later they're going to get old." I got up and dropped a hundred on the counter. I kissed his lips then rubbed the lipstick off. "Stasi get him a bottle on me." I walked out into the parking lot and headed home.
"You did what now?" Darcy laughed. Before going to pick up Simi, I decided to tell Darc about last nights events. She was dying of laughter.
"I just left him after dropping a hundred dollars for a bottle." I shrugged.
"You just played his ass. I know his pride his hurt."
"I really could care right now." She gave me that bitch please face and I couldn't help but to laugh.
"I mean I kind of do care. I'm just tired of being lusted after. Eventually I want to settle down. Shawn is definitely fine but I don't see anything more than a casual fling."
"Girl you sound like you're in your fifties. I definitely know where you coming from though." Honestly sitting at the bar talking to him the other night had me thinking about a lot of things. One of those things is settling down and being the best mother I can be for my daughter. I don't have time for games, I've been there and done it too.
She reached over and poured more champagne into our glasses.
"Have you talked to your baby daddy yet? I think it's time"
"Yeah, we talked yesterday." I said cutting her off.
"What happened?"
"He explained to me why he left."
"Details bitch." She threw a pillow at me, making us both start laughing.
"He apologized for leaving. He said he it was to protect me."
"Do you believe him?" I took a sip from my glass.
"He seems to be telling the truth but, who really knows if he's telling the truth."
There was a long pause between us before she spoke again.
"Do you think you would give him a second chance?"
"It's not simple... Realistically no, but theoretically yes. I would love to give my daughter what I didn't have, both a mother and father together. I just can't deal with the lies and cheating again." I expressed.
"Well you know I'm here for you if you need me."
"I know boo." I checked the time on my phone and decided it was time to leave. "I need to go." I took the glass and finished my drink before leaving.
"Ok love you sissy."
"Love you too." I grabbed my MCM backpack and headed out the door.
I called mama and let her know that I was on the way. She told me that they were still at the nail salon and wouldn't be done for at least twenty minutes. I took that as my time to pick up some food for the both us.
I went to Chili's because she has been craving their chicken crispers for awhile.
"Hello welcome to Chili's."
"Hello." I greeted. I walked over to the bar and saw the Miami Heat vs Pacers game. The Heat were down by three.
"What can I get you beautiful?" The bartender asked. I opened my mouth to speak but, someone did for me.
"She would like a margarita on the rocks, platinum patron with salt around the rim. Also add a bud light to that order boss."
"I'm impressed you remembered." I said looking over at Drew.
"Yea, whatever nigga. What are you doing here?" He took off his shades and placed them on the table.
"Picking up some food for me and our daughter. What about yourself?"
"I'm actually on a date right now."
"Shouldn't you be over there with her?"
"Nah, she cool. Plus you're more important anyway."
"Anyway." I said trying to change the subject.
"I miss you. I miss being able to talk about random shit." He said out the blue.
"We use to talk about everything. Our future together and how we were going take over the world together." I laughed to myself.
"Whatever happened to that?"
"You left." I simply stated.
"Look,"
"If you're going to spit out another apology you can save it. I'm tired of hearing those words."
"Nah, although I am, I was going to ask for our friendship back. I know you got a man now but, I want us to get back where we use to be."
"Ok." I took a sip of my drink and played with the salt on the rim.
"So we cool now?"
"Yeah we cool." The whole time we talked about each other. I found out that he had been back in Texas for awhile. He still wouldn't tell me where he went, when he left. Everything was pretty much the same except that he moved further away and that he has started a whole new business in gym industry. I told him a little bit about me but, I mainly focused on Simone. I still had my doubts about whether I should trust him so, I kept things minimal.
It was getting dark outside and his date had left hours ago. I didn't realize the time until the people around us were starting to clean up.
"Here's your order enjoy your night." The hostess said. I grabbed my stuff and walked to my car with Drew trailing behind me.
"I enjoyed spending time with you." He said leaning against my car.
"Me too."
"I guess I'll talk to you later. Oh Friday is it ok, if I take Simone with me?"
"Sure, she is your daughter too." I laughed.
"I know but, I know how your crazy ass is." I punched in chest lightly.
"Shut up."
"Well goodbye." He gave me a kiss on the lips and started walking away.
"You know you're going to have to stop doing that." I yelled to him. He turned around with a smirk on his face.
"Shut up you know you like it." I shook my head and got in my car.
It didn't take me long to get to Mama's. I walked up to the front porch and rang the door bell.
"Hey." I walked inside the house and stood by the door.
"Hey baby. How was your day?"
"It was good."
"That's good. Well let me get that diva of yours."
"Ok." As I waited for them I started scrolling through my Instagram. I saw a few pics that I thought were cute and a lot of pictures of me from last night.
"Mommy!" I picked her up and placed her on my hip.
"Hey mama did you have fun?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Before we go give nana a kiss." She reached out for Mama and gave her a kiss.
"Thanks again for watching her."
"No problem. I'll see you later."
"Love you." I walked out to the truck. "So tell me what you did." While I got her situated she told me about all she did.
"I even got to stay up past my bed time but, Paw Paw told me not to tell you." I swear she could not keep a secret worth nothing.
"He did, did he?" I asked looking at her through the rear view mirror.
"Yep." She said popping the p.
"Well guess who I saw today?"
"Who?" She asked excitedly.
"Your daddy and he said he wants to see you Friday." I didn't hear her respond. When I got to a red light I turned around to looked at her. She has a blank expression on her face. I couldn't quite read what she was thinking.
"What's wrong Pooh?"
"I don't like daddy." She pouted.
"Don't say that Simone."
"It's true. He is a big meanie for making you cry." The light turned green so, I reached my hand in the backseat and held hers.
"Baby your dad isn't mean to me, I promise. Mommy was just sad because, she hadn't seen him in a long time and I was mad at him."
"You promise."
"I promise." I smiled at her. When we got to the house I pulled into the driveway. After I got our stuff we headed inside.
"Let's have a movie night. Go take a bath then put on you pj's."
"Ok." There was a ring at the doorbell so I went to go answer it. When I went out there, there was a single white rose and a letter attached.
"Last night you called me a boy but, I'm gonna show you what a real man is like. Don't count me out just yet ma." It was signed with a big S on it. No lie it was cute but, I meant what I said. I'm not going to waste my time on the games.
I sat the rose on the counter and went to the kitchen to throw away the letter and to heat up the food. I also grabbed some extra snacks and drinks then placed them on the floor in my room. As I was going back to get the food out the room my phone started vibrating. I checked my phone and sure enough it was Shawn. I turned my phone off and proceeded what I was doing. When I walked back into my room Simone was already in there watching a movie on Netflix. "Are you ready to watch movies now?"
"Let me take a shower first then we can." She nodded her head and I walked into the bathroom. After I took a shower and was fully dressed, I went into my room. She was watching Soul Plane. Her butt is too grown.
"Pass me a sour straw." I got under the covers, wrapping my arm around her.
A few minutes into the movie she was sleep. I got up and picked her up careful not to wake her.
"Mommy."
"Yes pookie."
"Love you."
"Love you more." I placed her in the bed, then went to mine. I put my phone on the charger and went to sleep.
