"Nobody knows what I go through. Wish you could put yourself inside my shoes."-August

I was sitting at home with the love of my life Simone. She makes me really happy and I would do anything to see those big green eyes light up.

"Mommy I drew you a picture." I picked her up and sat her in my lap. I looked at her picture of three stick figures and a house with the sun in the background.

"This is beautiful baby. Who are in the picture?"

"Me, you and daddy." It broke my heart to know that she never got to meet him but, I always tell her what a good man he is. I guess she saw a tear rolling down my cheek because she took her hand wiped it away.

"Don't cry mommy."

"I'm not baby. It's just a really pretty picture."

"Promise?" She asked sticking out her pinky.

"Promise." I said while wrapping mine around her's. I kissed her all over her face causing her to laugh.

"You hungry mama." She nodded her head.

"Ok go get dressed so we can go out somewhere." She ran out my lap. For a five year old she is very independent. I'm just really scared when she starts school in a couple months. Even though I work at the club, I'm use to spending all my time with her during the day. I went upstairs and did my daily routine. My mind racing back to the picture. You would think it wouldn't bother me but, it does. I just don't want her heart broken if he never comes around. She has this idea in her mind that he is coming back and as much as I want to tell her the truth, I can't. I got out the shower and put on a pair of ripped skinny jeans, a white and black parental advisory tank, black and silver spiked work boots and my studded Gucci bag.

"Simone you ready!" As soon as I called her name she came rushing down the stairs.

"Ready mommy." I scanned over outfit to make sure she looked presentable. She was blue jeans, Oreo Jordan's and a black tank top with a blue jean vest on. She looked cute in her little outfit. I grabbed her hand and led her to the car. Once we got in I turned on the radio and let the music take over.

"Where are we going mama?"

"How about Chucky E. Cheese?" I asked her looking out the rear view mirror. I saw her face light up and she instantly started going crazy. About fifteen minutes later we got to the place and she took off. I went into a booth and sat while she played. As I scrolled through my phone I heard someone clear their throat.

"Hello Ms.Destiny." It was that same guy I met at the club a couple nights ago but, I couldn't think of his name.

"Hello."

"So what brings you to a place like this?" I could see he was trying to make conversation and honestly it was kind of cute.

"I could be asking you the same thing." He smiled showing his perfect white teeth. He was about to say something when Simone came up crying. I got up from the bench and picked her up.

"What's wrong baby."

"I hit my head." I kissed the top of her head and wiped her tears away.

"If you stop crying and be a big girl, I'll get you some ice cream."

"Ok mommy." I looked back up to the guy that I was talking to earlier.

"See your kind of busy but, can I have your number and we can hook up later?" He still had that cocky demeanor I remember from a couple nights ago.

"Sure." I handed him my phone and he typed in his info.

"Bye ma." He walked away and went to wherever he came from.

"You ready?" After we went to Marble Slab we decided to have a girls night. We were now watching Imagine That. This movie was too cute. I looked down and saw her crying.

"What's wrong?"

"I wish my daddy was around too." It just broke my heart to see her crying like this. I never want to see her heart broken and to know that he caused it made even worst.

"Baby your daddy loves you very much and I know he never stopped thinking about you. I know he wishes he could be here with you right now."

"Why isn't he?" I took a long pause trying to figure out how to explain this to her.

"Sometimes people have to go away for awhile."

"Will he come back?"

"I don't know baby but, I promise I will never leave you."

"Promise?" She stuck out her fingers so I can grab it

"Promise." I grabbed her finger and wrapped mine around it.I woke up the next morning to her light snores. I was going to surprise her with her favorite breakfast since, she had a rough night last night. I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. When I finished doing my business I walked into the kitchen to prepare making her food. I decided on making French toast, bacon and an omelet. While prepping my ingredients my phone started ringing. I looked down and noticed it was an unknown number.

"Hello."

"Hey beautiful." It sounded like a masculine but, I couldn't figure out who it could be.

"Who is this?"

"Shawn." My face instantly lit up but, I wouldn't let him know that.

"Oh hey."

"You don't sound excited to hear from me." I remained silent. "Oh so we still playin' game ma?"

"I guess so."

"Well if you aren't busy sometime this week, I'd like to take you out."

"I'll think about it." I said smirking.

"Don't keep me waiting to long."

"Bye boy." I said while laughing.

"Alright bye love." After our mini convo we had, I continued making breakfast.

DREW.

I know it's been a minute since I came through but, I needed to make some moves. Now my main focus is to make sure I take care of what means most to me. I ain't tell nobody I was coming back but, I know they will be surprised to see me. I hope not too much shit has changed and they held it down for a nigga. First I needed to check on a couple traps of mine before I pay a visit to my past. I called the one person I knew who would give me the dirt about the streets. I picked up my phone and dialed the number.

"Hello?"

Athough long over due I decided to update.
