DREW.
The thought of introducing my son to Destiny scares me shitless. It's not that I was trying to hide him from anyone, the timing just isn't right. The only people that know about him is my mom and Rio. All that's about to change since I put my business out there.
I felt soft taps on my body. I slowly opened my eyes to see Simone and Rico with big smiles on their faces. I could tell that they wanted something.
"Daddy, me and Rico want to play laser tag." I stretched out before getting out of bed.
"That's fine. Both of you get dressed so we can leave." They raced out the room. I walked into my restroom and took care of my hygiene. Once I was done I wrapped a towel around my body then headed towards my room. I picked out a pair of black basketball shorts, grey stripped tank top, my big face silver Rolex and my all black Gucci sneakers. I grabbed a pair of shades along with my phone and wallet.
"Ya'll ready to go?" They were sitting in the theater watching some kid show on TV.
"Yes sir." They said in unison. I grabbed my car keys and we headed out the door. Since we were close by, I decided to see if my son wanted to come.
"I'm make a quick stop real quick." I pulled into the parking lot of the condo complex.
"Stay in here, I'll be right back. Don't let anybody in except for me."
"We got it daddy, we are big kids."
"Mh, I'm trusting you." I got out the car and knocked on the door signaling to lock it. Once Simone did, I pulled the handle to make sure. I made my way towards the elevator and pressed the number to her floor. When I got to her door I knocked on it. She didn't answer so I banged on the door to try to get her to answer. I heard the door unlock and she was standing there in her robe.
"Drew, it is too early for you to be over here."
"I know, I'm sorry."
"You know you can't be showing up unannounced. What if my man was over here?"
"I just came to get my son." She stepped outside, crossing her arms over her body.
"He's sleep right now. Come by later."
"Man just go get him. I have the right to see my son."
"Drew go home, you're starting to cause a scene." Her attention averted to the older couple came walking towards us.
"Ma'am is he bothering?"
"No sir. I'm perfectly fine thank you for your concern though." He tipped his hat at her.
"Have a nice day now." He grabbed his wife's hand proceeding down the hall.
"You asked me to be more involved in his life and I'm trying to do that."
"Daddy!"
"Hey son, go get your bags you are staying with me for a couple days." He ran back inside to go get his things. She stepped closer to me filling the gap between us.
"I don't know what this act is about but I swear if my son gets hurt that's your ass."
"Whatever, go help my son get ready." She rolled her eyes before going back into the house. I scrolled through my phone while waiting for them.
"You have everything you need?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Alright I'll come and pick you up in a couple days. I love you Dre." He nodded his head and I grabbed his bag from him.
