I was beginning to think I was cursed in another life. That could've been the only possible explanation for this blissful torture. That, or I somehow pissed off every cellular network in the world.

I let go of a soft, disappointed breath and leaned back, seeing my expression mirrored on Jungkook's face. Without letting go of me, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, glaring at the screen. After aggressively pushing the answer button, he held it to his ear and didn't try to hide his agitation. "Yes, Hyung?" I was close enough to him still that I could hear Jimin on the other side.

"Hey, where are you?" I grinned at the sound of his voice and saw Jungkook's lips twitch from the corner of my eye.

"At the pool," Jungkook said before a deep sigh. "Something happened, Hyung." I winced and stepped back, not missing the reluctance in Jungkook's grip before he relented and let me go. Eyeing the chair I had claimed earlier, I made my way toward it, grimacing as I looked at the bag that had been spilled over the ground in my haste to get away.

"...and he had her by the arm." I heard Jungkook say as he walked up behind me. I scooped everything back into the bag, thankful my phone wasn't cracked during the scuffle. I remembered my headphones and reached up to my ears, feeling them both gone. I groaned softly and looked toward the area where one of the guys had grabbed me. My eyes strayed into the water and I sighed as they floated on the surface.

I was certain this wasn't what they meant when the ad said "water resistant". I reached for my cover up on the table but when I saw that it was empty, I almost let out a whine. That damn bird. Was the whole world against me right now?

"I don't know who they were, Hyung." Jungkook paused for a moment before tsking and shaking his head. "No, I didn't care where they were going. Why should I have? They were hurting her."

They were hurting her.

I gulped and pulled the bag up, squeezing it to me as a wave of vulnerability washed over me. Along with shame. So much shame. Did I really try to kiss him immediately after almost getting assaulted? Who knows what they would've done to me. My brow furrowed and I glanced at Jungkook. His face was etched with concern. Why did they have the ability to make me forget every bad thing that ever happened to me? No matter when it happened? I didn't know if I liked that.

Jungkook gestured toward the door and I followed his lead, keeping my belongings close to me as we walked back into the hotel. I heard a familiar voice carry down the hallway and my eyes widened.

"Sir, I'm sorry, but I can't give you their names. We have a strict policy-"

"Does your policy tell you what to do when one of your guests assaults my employee?" Jimin asked, his voice deeper and darker than I had ever heard it.

"Well, no-"

"Then give me the damn names. Right now."

We rounded a corner and I slowed to a stop as I saw Jimin towering over a man at the front desk. The woman I smiled at this morning stood behind him and glanced at me, her eyes wide with concern. Jimin must have noticed because he was turning around to face me only a moment later. His gaze locked onto mine and I grinned tightly, feeling the tension from my spot at least ten feet away.
