I didn't see Jungkook at all that weekend.

He said he was going to the gym, but then he never came home. I asked Tae about it, and he said it was normal for him to take some time away if things got heavy. He didn't exactly specify what made Jungkook leave, but I kind of got the idea he wouldn't even if I asked. Namjoon ordered me a replacement phone, which came in scarily fast, and I debated on calling to check on him, but ultimately gave him some space.

It wasn't until Monday that I heard Jungkook's laugh, and the sound made my heart jump in my chest. I was already walking to the kitchen for breakfast when my steps became hurried. I pushed open the door, and my shoulders fell in relief when I saw him sitting next to Jimin, laughing at something he was showing him on his phone.

His nose was scrunched in that familiar smile, and I couldn't help but mirror the expression. The knot inside my stomach untangled-it wasn't until that moment that I realized just how tight it was while he was gone.

My heels clacked on the floor, and all eyes were on me. I grinned and looked around, noticing almost immediately that Namjoon was nowhere to be seen.

"Morning," I said. Jin handed me a plate-a complimentary kiss on the temple with it and smiled.

"Good morning, Cupcake. Sleep well?" I nodded and refused to acknowledge the blush staining my cheeks. Every damn time. Of all the nicknames, that one made my stomach flutter the most-likely because of its origin, or the way Jin would pitch his voice lower on purpose, knowing its effect.

Bastard.

"Hey, Kook," I said, sitting next to him. He grinned and set his phone down, giving me his full attention.

"Hey, Bunny."

I took a bite of toast, licking the crumbs off my lips before speaking. "I missed you this weekend." I left out the part I really wanted to say.

Where did you go? Why did you leave? What's going on?

His face softened, and he nudged his shoulder against mine. "I missed you more. I'm sorry I left so suddenly and without saying anything. I just... Needed some time alone. I'm sure you've felt that way before."

I nodded. Of course, I'd felt something like that before, but I doubted that was the real reason for his absence the past couple of days. Truth was, I was pretty sure what I walked into on Friday had a lot to do with the tension that blanketed the house all weekend, including Jungkook's little getaway.

At first, I thought it was something to do with what happened at the club, but the longer Jungkook was gone, the more I doubted that. It wasn't until I caught Jin and Namjoon whispering angrily at each other in the living room last night that I knew something else was causing the strain. I only stayed and listened for a few seconds, terrified I'd get caught eavesdropping, but what I heard was enough to know sides were being taken in the house. I just wasn't sure what they were fighting over.
