🥀✨🥀✨🥀
I was curling the last section of my hair when a soft knock on my door caught my attention. I let the strand fall and paused the music which had filled the space while I was getting ready.
"Just a sec!" I called out, glancing at the clock. 6:50. Jimin was a tad bit early, but that was fine. Maybe he was as anxious as I was about this date. I spritzed on my favorite perfume and gave myself a once-over in the large, floor-to-ceiling mirror in the corner of my bedroom.
When I walked into my closet earlier, I already had the perfect dress in mind for tonight. With the warm nights and the feminine aesthetic, I had a good feeling it would be a perfect fit for my date with Jimin. The baby blue fabric clung to all the right places, stopping at the middle of my shins. The straps were thin but surprisingly supportive as I decided to attempt a braless adventure.
Wish me luck.
Peppered all over the dress were small, white daisies, making me think Hobi had a hand in picking it out when I first started working for them. It caught my eye several weeks ago. I just didn't have an opportunity to wear it. But now that I did, I couldn't help but appreciate how... effortlessly simple it was.
I paired it with white block heels that had a thin strap around the ankle, and a few dainty pieces of silver jewelry that tied it all together. My hair fell in loose, soft waves down my back and over my shoulders, and to keep with the theme, I stuck to light colors for my makeup.
All in all, I was feeling more confident than nervous about my night with Jimin. Which was an uncommon occurrence when I was around any of them. Breathing deeply, I stepped away from the mirror and opened the door, but blinked in surprise when it wasn't Jimin waiting for me.
"Hi, Jin," I said breathlessly. As his eyes scanned my body, he stared at me with a look that made me press my thighs together. The effect this man had on me with something as simple as a single look... It was alarming. But in the best way.
"Violet," he said as his dark eyes met mine. "You look incredible." I smiled and nervously smoothed down the dress along my hips.
"Thanks, Jin." We stood in silence until I shuffled aside and gestured to my room. "Did you want to come in?" I asked, unsure why he came to my room so close to when Jimin was meant to "pick me up". He grinned and stepped in, going straight to the bed. He sat on the mattress and patted the spot next to him.
"Please sit. I just wanted to talk to you about something really quickly." I took the spot and swallowed down some nerves when his voice took on a more serious tone. What was so important all of a sudden? I forced my hands to stay still in my lap while I waited for him to start. He turned his upper half toward me and sighed. His expression was soft, even though his body was tense with either concern or hesitancy. I couldn't figure out which.
"I wanted to come to talk to you before your date. I doubt I'll be up or around when you and Jimin get back, and I thought this was a conversation we should have before work on Monday." I nodded along and prepared myself for the worst. This was when they told me it was time to find a new job if I was going to be dating them. It had to be.
