"Wow, Jimin, this place is beautiful," I said, staring up at a small, cozy restaurant through the car window.
"I know it's pretty low profile, especially if you consider the places we've eaten since you started working for us, but..." he trailed off. I glanced over at him and saw a soft smile on his face while he looked up at the building, too. His eyes held a level of familiarity I had yet to see from him.
I remembered what Jin said earlier, about Jimin planning everything tonight and being more than excited about it. Reaching over, I took his hand in mine and laced our fingers together. He looked down at them, then at me.
"It's perfect," I said. His smile grew, and he leaned forward until our faces were only inches apart. His cologne surrounded me and made my mouth water while his breath mingled with mine. I thought for a singular moment he was about to kiss me, and I realized just how badly I wanted it to happen.
And then he unbuckled my seat belt and leaned back. I let out a soft, disappointed breath, and he grinned.
"Ready to go?" His tone was smooth and airy, as if he hadn't just left me dizzy from a single interaction. The amusement in his eyes sparked something deep inside me, and I raised a brow.
So, he wanted to tease? Two could play that game.
Without a word, I opened the door and stepped... Okay, more like rolled out of the car. Why did all of their vehicles have to be so low to the ground? Jimin grunted and was suddenly in front of me, an expression of annoyance written on his face. I jumped in surprise and looked back at his side of the car.
"How-" I shook my head. "You know what? Don't even tell me, just show me how you did that. It takes me years, and at least two pulled muscles to get out of these cars." His eyes may have brightened, but he still looked disgruntled.
"No. I won't teach you." I glanced at him in surprise as he closed the door. "You'll just use it to get out of the car yourself when I'm supposed to be doing the gentlemanly thing and opening the door for you." My lips twitched, listening to him grumble and fuss while we made our way toward the doors of the restaurant.
It may not have been the most expensive-looking place to eat, but it was certainly beautiful. Bright, fresh floral arrangements lined the building and sidewalk. The doors were frosted glass and large enough you had to tilt your head back a little to see the sign above them. The light gray brick that covered the outside gave a modern but somehow still homey feel. I wondered how I had never seen this place before.
When we reached the entrance, I stepped back and kept my hands folded in the front of my body. Jimin didn't hide his satisfaction, smiling and reaching forward. He opened the door and gestured for me to walk through first. I chuckled as I did so and felt him close behind as I led us to the hostess, only a few feet away.
