~*~*(Time Skip: Two Weeks)*~*~

It had been two weeks since Gerard had acknowledged my existence, and I was falling apart. The most I ever got from him was an occasional glare he'd shoot at me when I got to art or music class. Some days Jamia would walk home with me because Samantha was usually at work when I got home from school. Nowadays she had to come in even when she didn't have a case. (Apparently she was a big deal in Belleville. She was the best lawyer in town.) I still walked home alone most days. I was still a little bit afraid of Gerard, but at this point I mostly just missed him. How could he leave me without saying anything?

Finally, it was Saturday. That meant I could stay in bed all day. I was just about to put my earphones on when my phone started ringing. Damn, I wanted a cell phone so bad.

"Hello?" I mumbled angrily.

"Lily? It's me, Frank," Frank said.

"What do you want?" I snapped. I had been snappy with everybody lately. I couldn't really help it.

"Jamia told me what happened. She actually told me like two weeks ago, but I've just been in shock until now. Now, before you hang up, I want you to know this isn't going to be like the pep talks I gave you in the past where I justified his actions," Frank rambled.

"I'm not gonna hang up. Continue," I urged.

"I just... I can't even believe he'd fucking do that, y'know?" Frank asked, sounding pissed.

"Yes, I do know actually. I was the one he did it to," I spat.

"So... Um... Did you break up with him yet?"

"I don't know what to do Frank! I trusted him. I believed in him. I loved him, but he tried to hurt me. He even knows about my past of abuse but he still fucking tried to hurt me!" I shouted, almost crying again.

"Lily, tell your sister Jamia and I are coming over. We need to talk," Frank said.

"Okay. See you soon," I mumbled. I got out of bed to find Samantha. She was doing laundry. "Jamia and her boyfriend are coming over to discuss what I should do about Gerard," I told her.

"Who's her boyfriend?" Sam asked.

"His name's Frank. He's been Gerard's best friend for ages. He'll know what to do," I explained.

"Alright," she said with a nod as she finished the laundry.

"Thanks," I said, flashing her a smile. I was glad she let them come over. I needed them.

About fifteen minutes later, there was a knock on the door. I looked in the mirror before I went to answer the door. My eyes were bloodshot, red and puffy. My hair was horribly tangled and messy. I was wearing the same pajamas I'd been wearing for weeks. I only changed out of my pajamas to go to school, and even then, I got back into them right after school. I could probably use a shower. I finally answered the door, not caring that I looked like a corpse. Jamia was used to seeing me like this anyway. That's what best friends are for.

Jamia quickly pulled me into a bone crushing hug as I invited them both inside. I hugged her back for a few moments before we both pulled away. "Hey Jams," I said, flashing a tiny smile.

"Hey Lily," she said. Frank, Jamia and I all went straight to my bedroom, not even stopping to say hello to Samantha.

"Lily, I want you to tell us everything that happened after he woke up," Frank said.

"As soon as he woke up, he was ignoring the fact that I was there. Samantha noticed I was upset so we left. Right after I invited Jamia over, Donna and Gerard got home. I decided to go check on him. Mikey was really happy to see me, but Gerard clearly wasn't. I asked him if we could talk, so he lead me down to the basement.  He told me to 'get the hell out' and he pushed me to the ground. After I stood up, he tried to slap me, but I ran out before he got a chance," I explained, trying my best to hold back tears so I wouldn't stutter.
