Chapter 1

Jude's POV
I can't believe Callie's finally getting adopted! After everything she's been through she will finally be part of this family without having to be afraid of being taken away.

Callie, Lena, and I walk into the house as Stef goes off to work. We start to set up for Mariana's victory party. Her dance team beat our school's other dance team. Long story.

I'm hanging streamers when Lena's phone rings. She picks up her phone and answers it.

"Hello," she says. The person on the other end starts talking and she walks into the other room. Two minutes later she runs out.

"Get in the car," she yells, running towards the door. We all run to the car. As soon as we're all in, Lena starts to drive.

"Where are we going?" I ask. She doesn't answer. She just keeps driving until we reach the hospital. It's the same hospital that Connor was at.

Did something happen to him, I think. No, the doctors said he would be fine.

Lena parks the car and we all rush into the hospital. When we get to the waiting room, Stef is waiting for us.

"What is going on," asked Callie. "We drove all the way over here and we have no idea why!"

"On their way home from the dance competition," Stef starts to say as Lena starts crying, "Ana went in to labor. She couldn't control the car and they they got hit."
