"Hey," says Jude, running into school the Monday after Thanksgiving break.
"Hey," I say. "So, now that Thanksgiving break is over, it's time to start planning winter break. You have any plans?"
"I don't think so."
"Good. My dad was planning a trip to Disney World and he said I could invite you. Wanna come?"
"Of course! But I don't know if I can be away from my family for Christmas."
"Oh. Ok," I say, a little disappointed.
"But then again," says Jude. "It is Disney World. Who can say no to Disney World?"
"So you'll consider coming?"
"I'll ask my family tonight."
"Cool. Now, how bout I escort my wonderful boyfriend to class."
"I think that's a wonderful idea."
I take Jude's hand and we walk to class.
