Chapter 21

Connor's POV

"We're here," says Louise. We get our bags and head inside. Louise opens the door and a small dogs runs up to us. She starts scratching Jude's leg.

"Come here Ginger," says Ella, picking up the dog. We walk inside. "She likes you. She only does that when she likes someone."

"Thanks," says Jude, petting Ginger.

"Let me show you to your room," says Louise. We walk upstairs and walk into a room with two beds. "I'll let you two get settled in." Louise leaves and we put our bags down.

"I'm guessing your dad didn't tell them about us," says Jude.

"Why do you say that," I ask.

"Because if she knew she wouldn't let us share a room." I laugh.

"True. Let's get settled in. I'm really tired." We unpack our bags and then head to the basement. We watch movies the rest of the night with Ella and Louise. After the final movie, we go to sleep.

Jude's POV

The next day, we go swimming with Ella and some of her friends. There's a red headed girl named Julia, a blonde girl named Gracie, and a short brunette named Dina.

While we're waiting in line to go on one of the slides, I hear Julia whisper something to Ella.

"Jude's kind of cute," whispers Julia. I turn bright red. I can tell Connor heard to. He's giving Julia a dirty look.

"Don't worry about it," I whisper to Connor. "I could never like her. Or any girl for that matter." We laugh.

"What's so funny," the girls ask.

"Nothing," Connor and I say in unison.

After we go on the slide, we all get snacks. I'm eating some fries when Ella walks up to me.

"Hey Jude," she says. "My friend Julia, sorta has a crush on you. She's just to shy to come up here herself."

"Oh," I say. "Well, tell her I'm sorry, but I don't like her like that. But tell her it's not because of her. I don't like any girls."

"What does that mean," she asks. I look and Connor. He nods.

"I'm gay," I say. "And Connor's my boyfriend."

"Oh," says Ella. "That's cool. I won't tell."

"It's ok," says Connor. "You can tell. But can we still share a room."

"My mom will probably be ok with that. But she'll probably make you keep your door open."

"We're used to it," I say. Ella tells her friends and mom about us. They're all cool about it. But Louise did say we had to keep the door open. The girls laugh because they know the reason why.

"Shut up," I say jokingly.

"Have you ever," asks Gracie.

"Ever what." The girls look at me and raise their eyebrows. "Oh. Ew. No. We're to young."

"Have you ever thought about it," asks Dina.

"He hasn't," says Connor, pointing at me. "But I'm a normal teenage boy. He isn't a normal teenage boy. He's special." He gives me a big hug.

"I know I am," I say. "Anymore questions?"

"When did you know you were gay," asks Julia.

"Blue nail polish," says Connor. The girls look and him confused. "Jude wore blue nail polish to school. I thought it was really cute. What about you Jude?"

"I always knew I was different," I say. "But I didn't really know until I met you." I give him a kiss.

"Aww," say the girls.

"Come on," says Louise. "We have to drop Julia, Gracie, and Dina at home. Then we have to go get some sleep. We have a big day tomorrow. We're going to the city to do some sightseeing."
