Connor's POV
"Connor," I hear Jude yell as I'm walking into school.
"Hey," I say.
"I have some bad news. My mom said as a punishment we can't hangout outside of school for the next week."
"My dad said the same thing. They probably talked about our punishment together."
"Yeah. Well this means we're just going to have spend as much time as possible together during school."
The rest of the day Jude and I hangout almost all day. Except for when I have gym. Other then that we were inseparable.
"See you tomorrow," says Jude at the end of the day.
"See you tomorrow," I say.
I start walking home when I hear someone calling my name. I turn around and see Jeremy running towards me.
"Hey," he says. "Do you wanna hangout today? I have almost no homework, and I'll probably be really bored. And I already asked Evan, but he's busy.
"Sure," I say. "Let me just ask my dad first."
I take my phone out of my pocket and call my dad. When's the last time I called someone?
"Hello," says my dad.
"Hi," I say. "Can I go to my friend Jeremy's house? You said I couldn't go to Jude's house. You never said I couldn't hang out with anyone else."
"Fine. Just be home before dinner."
"I can come," I tell Jeremy.
"Cool," says Jeremy. "I don't live that far, so we can walk."
"Ok."
We start walking, neither of us saying anything. We get to house, and before we enter, he stops me.
"Can you not mention anything about being gay," he asks. "About either of us being gay. My parents are, like, really Christian. And really homophobic. When they heard the Supreme Court was making gay marriage legal everywhere in the United States, they were so mad. I stayed in my room for about a week because I didn't want to be around them when they were this mad."
"I got it," I say. "I won't talk about it."
Jeremy opens the door and we walk in. Just by looking at the front hallway you could tell that Jeremy's parents were really Christian. There was a cross hanging on the wall, and a Bible on a small table next to the door.
"Mom," yells Jeremy. "I'm home!"
"Hi Jeremy," she says. "I see you brought a friend over."
"Hi," I say. "I'm Connor."
"Hello Connor," she says. "I'm Mrs. Miller. It's very nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you, too."
"We're going to go hangout upstairs," says Jeremy.
We put down our bags, and walk upstairs. We walk into Jeremy's room, and he closes the door behind him.
"Can I talk to you about something," he asks.
"Yeah anything," I say.
"I really like Evan. Like really like him. And I know he likes me to, but I feel like I can't do anything. Because of, you know, my parents."
"That's tough. My dad was against me being gay at first, but he got used to it. But then again, he's not as religious as your parents. I would say date him secretly, but if he's anything like Jude he won't want that. But I say give it a shot."
"Ok. I'll ask him tomorrow."
"What do you want to do?"
"I don't know. How 'bout we just play some video games?"
"Sure."
Jeremy turns on the Xbox and hands me a remote. He starts the game and we start playing it.
"Anybody want a snack," asks Mrs. Miller, walking into the room.
"Can we have some chips," asks Jeremy.
"Sure."
Mrs. Miller goes downstairs and gets us some chips. For the next couple hours, we eat chips and play video games.
"I better go," I say, checking my phone and seeing it's half an hour before dinner.
"Ok," says Jeremy. "See you tomorrow."
"See ya."
I walk downstairs and grab my bag. As I'm putting my shoes on, Mrs. Miller walks in.
"Leaving already," she says.
"Yeah," I say. "My dad wants me home before dinner."
"Well it was nice meeting you. Jeremy hasn't had many friends over since he stopped being friends with Kevin and Blake. Would you happen to know why?"
"No," I lie. Of course I knew why. They were making fun of Jude and I for being gay. "Bye."
"Bye."
I walk out of the house and call my dad. I wait outside for 5 minutes until my dad shows up.
"Did you have fun," he asks as I get in the car.
"Yeah," I say. "Not as fun as hanging with Jude though."
"I know you're mad. But it's only a week."
"I know."
And that week couldn't go by any slower.
Author's Note
Sorry I didn't update yesterday. I got busy. But I updated twice the day before so I guess that makes up for it. Maybe. Anyways, I know a lot of you want Jude and Connor to do something at school since they can't hangout, but I'm still to young and innocent! Sorry!😁
Love,
