Chapter 43

Connor's POV

"It's all set up," whispers Taylor, sliding into the seat next to me.

"Ok," I say. "Jude's getting his lunch now, but he'll be back soon."

Taylor was helping me ask Jude to the dance. Even though I know he'll say yes, I want to do something special him.

"Ok," Taylor says. "As soon as he sits down, I'll contact Mariana."

"Can I sit here," asks Evan.

"Of course," I say.

"Hey guys," says Jeremy.

"Hi," says Taylor.

Evan and Jeremy sit down next to each other. Even though the don't say anything, they both know the other likes them.

"Who are you taking to the dance," asks Evan.

"Well I'm taking Jude, obviously," I say.

"I'm going solo," says Taylor. "You guys want to tag along. We could go as a group of 3."

"Sure," says Jeremy.

"Sounds good," Evan says.

"Hey guys," says Jude.

"I'll be right back," says Taylor. She gets up and walks away.

"What was that about," asks Jude, sitting next to me.

"I don't know," I say.

I look over to where Taylor walked and see her give me a thumbs up. This was it. The song Shut Up and Dance came on, and Mariana's dance team started their dance.

The dance ends and I stand up.

"Jude Jacob Adams Foster, will you go to the back to school dance with me."

"Yes!" Jude says. He jumps up and gives a hug.

Everyone starts clapping and Mariana runs over and joins our hug.

"You two are so cute," she says. She lets us go and runs off with her friends.

"You didn't have to go all out," says Jude. "I would've said yes no matter what."

"I know," I say. "But I wanted to do something special for you."

"That was really cute," says Jeremy.

"I helped," says Taylor. Everyone gives her a weird look. "I get that that was random, but I wasn't going to let my talents go unnoticed."

We all laugh and finish our lunches. We talk about how our day was so far. Soon we here the bell ring and get up to go to our next class.

"Bye," says Jude. "I'll see you next period. I have health now, probably not the best idea to put health right after lunch."

"Same with gym," I say. "Half of those girls will probably throw up the small amount of food they did eat from all the movement."

"I'd probably throw up," Jude says. "I eat a lot, but I'm still super skinny and not very athletic."

"That's not true. I bet your good at some sport."

"Not really but thanks. I should go no. I don't want to be late."

"Bye. See you later."

"See you later."

Author's Note

Sorry this chapter was kind of short. It was kind of a filler chapter because I didn't want them to go to the dance without some big proposal. Next chapter will be longer.
